My door is a six panel door like the one in the picture but it is not solid wood.** A: Yes, just do not use their template, insert the flexible straight piece into either side piece and trace on the outside of it for a perfect fit. If you use their poor template it will be to big and not secure on a hollow core door. I use Dremel rotary tool to cut the hole. I think I used wood glue and clamps to attach it. I would also glue the flexible straight piece onto one of the side panels or it will slide around. **Q: What are the dimensions of the kitty pass? Im looking for something that will fit on a slated door without disrupting the slats.** A: The hole itself is roughly 7". Cats have to lower themselves slightly but it also makes them feel hidden once inside. It does NOT paint well. It took several tries. See other post for the additional dimensions. **Q: Would use on door to the garage, what about the A/C or heat escaping? Possible to attach a flap or door?** A: This is designed for interior use. I ordered the 9x12 cat door and I’m so glad I did. I was worried my cat would be too big but it’s perfect. I would say most cats I’ve seen would most likely fit through that size. It helps keep the litter box safe from my toddler and the cat food safe from the dogs! Installation is easy enough if you have a jig saw. I put painters tape under my cut line because I was worried it might splinter the wood.
