Good Stuff - Multi Use
This stuff works great to seal/cover cracks on glass dishes and lids. It holds up in both the microwave and convection oven on my lids for my corningware. Protects from accidently cutting myself, yet safe to be near food. Another great use is for my wine glasses hanging in the RV and between my plates and bowls - prevents rattling and clanging with traveling down the road. I put a dab on each side of the glasses (see arrows in pic) and the dabs bump up against each other. Does no damage to glasses and can easily be removed if you choose. Game changer for sure!

Superior product that's easy to apply, clean up, and truly water proof after curing
Excellent product, Made in the USA. I used this RTV to seal the glass on the inside of my 20yr old Bosch front-load washer door. The old seal was well old, so moisture was getting inside the door, causing mold. Wanted food-contact grade RTV so as not to cause any skin irritations. After a month this has held up incredibly well. Completely water tight and withstands hot water used by washing machine. Very easy to apply and clean up, before curing or after. After curing, clean with a box cutter. I bought 2 tubes but 1 is plenty. This is acetic acid RTV -- it reacts with the moisture in the air to cure. It will have a strong vinegar smell during application, and for 2-3 days while it completely cures. Best leave whatever you're sealing outside if possible. Also, if you use a lot of it in an indoor, poorly ventilated area like the basement, be aware that acetic acid is highly corrosive to cooper and solder joints -- bare household copper wiring and copper water pipes. This corrosion risk is only during the curing process when you have the vinegar smell. Once fully cured and the vinegar smell is gone, there is no more acetic acid so no longer the corrosion risk.

Repaired my old Soma carafe
So far so good. Used it to repair my Soma carafe, the top which acts as the cover to pour and refill. Will see how well it holds after washing. Info says the glue is water resistant and food safe

Initially thought I received expired product, but I was dead wrong.
In early June I purchased these 2 tubes of the RTV 4500 'food contact' silicone sealant and received the tubes fairly quickly, but they showed a stamped date on the tubes of 01/23, meaning Jan 2023. The stamping didn't say "expires on', nor did it say "manufactured on", so I assumed expired even tho the seller included a sticker saying the date on the tubes is the manufactured date, NOT an expiration date. To verify this, I emailed Silco Inc, the manufacturer, and they did indeed reply that the stamping on the tubes was in fact the manufactured date, and not an expiration date. Therefore the tubes I received were fresh, and not expired. I used only about 10% of one of the tubes, so far, and it worked out fine for my initial small sealant repair.

My favorite of all the onces I tried.
I am an appliance repair technician, and often times I need silicone to seal stuff. This one has the best consistency and doesnt dry out too much in the cap, I just poke it with a screw driver, and its good to squeeze.

Effective but VERY offensive and toxic odor
Product is foodsafe and effective as a sealant and adhesive just as described. Cures clear. The package has serious warnings related to application within very ventilated space due to toxic fumes prior to curing - HEED these warnings.. I used a simple vented construction mask (over nose and mouth from home depot) and the fumes were manageable except for a few times they burned my eyes and managed to enter the mask. Fumes during install were all manageable but the Smell afterwards is VERY strong and offensive... I used this to adhere some felt to the bottom of some spare quartzite stone peices to make some cheese board gifts but they have to sit out for months before the smell isn't immediately present and it's still present if you smell the stone.

Excellent
Ever though it takes days to cure I have been impressed by it's ability to stop the leaking.
