I purchased the set and received in mid November 2021 and the bran is about to run out on the next use. I only put 20ml on each layer and the measuring scoop has markers from 10ml to 100ml which is also very useful for diluting the exudate to use as liquid fertiliser as well I may have used a little more bran to begin with but have found that the 20ml is sufficient for my use and this may also depend on how quick you fill the Bokashi up as a larger family would achieve this quicker than a single. You can purchase more bran on Amazon and I have another ready. I am really pleased with the 2 Skaza bin set and would highly recommend them. **Q: One of the bokashi bins are leaking from around the tap. What can i do?** A: Not sure about that as I do not have a problem but suggest you contact the manufacturer for advice. **Q: Does this come with an instruction leaflet?** A: Yes but also have lots of info about composting on the internet in general... if is waste food, peelings, small bones even.. they will ferment **Q: Can you leave it in the bin to make actual compost or will it just make starting compost** A: Hi, My Bokashi bin creates great compost but you have to leave it to do its job. My way is to fill container 1, which takes about 3 weeks for 4 adults worth of kitchen scraps (including chicken bones and fat from the grill pan) – anything I can't put in the composter. When the first 1 is full I leave it to ferment until the second one's full then empty it in to a lidded bin in the garden to continue working. When the bin is full I bury it in a fallow raised bed.
