I’ve been doing ‘no poo’ for a few years now and it’s done wonders for my hair, which is very fine and prone to looking oily when conditioned enough to keep it manageable. However, though my ‘no poo’ routine was effective, it was just too time-consuming and required a lot of prep. I bought this shampoo in the hope that it would provide the ‘no poo’ experience without the hefty time investment. Some of the reviews said that it left their hair feeling dry - but that is often the case when avoiding commercial shampoo and not yet knowing how to properly condition natural hair, so I wasn’t too concerned. I tried it today for the first time, and I’m very pleased. The caveats: * this wash was done after a few days of flax seed gel use, and this generally leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturised (though not this much!) * this is the absolute first wash - I’ll try to come back to update after I’ve used it more times * my hair is quite long and I probably used about a tbsp of the powder * as I usually would, I conditioned afterwards with a few applications of dilute apple cider vinegar * I don’t ‘rub’ my hair dry with a towel, just twist it up and leave the towel to absorb the water (this reduces frizz all round) The results: * my hair feels lovely: definitely clean, soft, light and shiny * my hair feels clean but not stripped, and was easy to brush and manageable while wet * now that it’s dried a bit, the new hair growth around my parting and temples is slightly fuzzy, since it’s not held down by its own weight (though I imagine a bit of flax gel will fix this in a moment) * the wash process was much faster and the powder feels a little bitty when mixed, but it doesn’t leave any residue or powder in the hair Overall, I’m very pleased with the results. So far, it seems to be an excellent shampoo that is gentle enough not to strip the hair like many commercial shampoos - and therefore doesn’t need a tonne of product just to make it look silky again. Definitely recommend, so far!

There is only one thing that is slightly inconvenient. It is hard to gauge how much you are about to tip into your hand. when in the shower, which lets face it is when most of us wash our hair, your hands are wet, so when you tip out some of the powder, if you accidently pour out too much, then it is wasted because you cannot put it back in the bottle damp. So this is the only fault and not worth deducting a star for. I absolutely love everything about this shampoo, I love the way it smells, I love the way my hair responded to it, I love the fact that there is nothing in it that will damage my hair. I have only just got it and have only used it once, but after using it, I have already got rid of my old liquid shampoo and conditioner. I will use them, but not on my hair. The shampoo will be used as hand soap and the conditioner I will use for shaving my legs and pits. This powder shampoo is exactly what my hair was crying out for, it has gone from being frizzy and lack lustre to shiny and looking like healthy frizz free hair in just one use. The smell is divine and I could still smell it in my hair after it had dried, so it really and truly is a gorgeous product. I read other reviews before buying and people were saying that they thought it to be a little expensive, I would have to disagree with that, but then again, I am use to buying liquid shampoos that are pretty pricey, Salon grade stuff. This little power packed bottle will last a very long time and as far as I am concerned, pound for pound, it is well priced. As for travelling, it is such a convenient sized bottle with a good quality screw cap, it will fit into a small toiletry bag with no issues. I have no problem in recommending this lovely shampoo, I am going to keep buying it, but I am also going to try their scalp scrub, it looks pretty awesome too.

I’m always a skeptic when it comes to claims like it helps stop shedding of hair and foams up into a great lather, as quite often than not products never do as what they claim. This product dos lather up really well, I find I have to double shampoo, and it has made my hair shedding a lot less, not stopping completely but it is significantly better. I give the product 4 stars because I find it doesn’t make it smooth. If you are looking for something different I would say give it a go!

This is so brilliant...plastic free, travel friendly, no chemical nasties, smells really beautiful and lathers surprisingly well! It seems to give my hair a good amount of volume and the best thing is it's a good Ph and will look after your scalp so that new hair grows through healthy. My hair has been pretty damaged and I've experienced hair loss in the past from conventional shampoos. I'm hoping this will help my hair regain its natural thickness and shine as it grows through. I hope the brand release more haircare products, I'd love a conditioner and a hair mask in the same range. A big thumbs up and a big thank you from me.

Best shampoo ever and lasts ages

Having used this product throughout 2023 and 2024, I am writing this reflective review in January 2026 to share how it performed over the long term and why my specific biology eventually clashed with the formula. Performance & My Hair Type As someone with fine, low-porosity hair, I am always looking for a sustainable shampoo that provides a deep clean without buildup. While this product was excellent at removing oils and creating a rich, luxurious lather, I personally did not find it provided the "volumising" effect I expected for my hair type. ✅ Pros: Zero-waste aluminium packaging; high concentration (55g lasts as long as three liquid shampoo bottles); pH balanced with Citric Acid; lightweight and invigorating Caffeine and Rosemary scent. ❌ Cons: High moisture sensitivity leads to severe clumping; lacks humectants and is a protein-free formula; contains corn-derived ingredients; potential for scalp irritation on reactive skin. The Clumping Challenge & Pro-Tips In a humid bathroom, this zero-waste hair care product is prone to turning into a solid block. The brand's "whacking" suggestion was ineffective for me and risked damaging my surfaces. 💡 My Solution: Immediately transfer the powder to an airtight container upon receipt. Use a clean, dry spoon to dispense your portion into an egg cup and dilute with water before applying to your hair. This ensures a more even distribution and avoids applying an abrasive, over-concentrated "hot spot" directly to your scalp. Reflective Critical Feedback (2026) Looking back at my usage, I now understand why I experienced increasing scalp irritation over time: • Chemical Sensitivities: I discovered I am sensitive to Coco Glucoside. While usually "gentle", users with corn sensitivities should note this surfactant and the Citric Acid are typically corn-derived. • Allergens: I have a known sensitivity to Geraniol, a natural component of the essential oils used here. • Formula Limitations: The formula lacks humectants and protein. My hair specifically requires protein treatments to maintain structure, and my dry, sensitive skin struggled with the "stimulating" nature of the growth-optimised ingredients. Final Verdict This is a eco-conscious choice . However, if you have dry skin, a need for protein, or known sensitivities to corn-derived ingredients, Geraniol, or Coco Glucoside, proceed with caution. The very ingredients designed to stimulate hair growth may be too aggressive for reactive scalps.

Unreal... My hair has never reacted so well to a shampoo... Everyone has said that they can see a significant improvement with hair growth and thickness. Absolutely love this shampoo!!

It is powder shampoo, hair looks just ok after using this shampoo, ingredients are probably clean. But I wouldnt buy it again as performance is nothing special.
