โญโญโญโญโญ โNot a palm tree. 4-year-old devastated. Would still recommend.โ
I bought this plant for my 4-year-old nephew, Vinnie, who had very clearly requested a PALM TREE. So, naturally, when this arrived, the disappointment on his face could only be described as devastating. ๐ He stared at it like I had personally betrayed him. He then informed his mum that he wanted a palm tree. His face said everything his mouth didnโt need to. His mum, sensing the crisis, asked, โOkay, shall we send it back? Do you not want it?โ A long silence followed. You could practically hear the cogs turning. Then came the response: โI DO!โ ๐ After approximately 10 minutes of processing the emotional rollercoaster he had just been through, he decided that actually, this plant was pretty great. He is now absolutely thrilled with it, especially because itโs going in his bedroom and HE gets to water it and look after it. ๐ฑ So, despite initially being treated like the worst gift anyone has ever given a child, the plant has somehow survived the ordeal and is now a much-loved member of the household. Would recommend. 10/10. Apparently not a palm tree, but acceptable. ๐๐ด๐ฑ The plant: โญโญโญโญโญ The initial reaction: โญ Emotional damage: โญโญโญโญโญโญโญโญโญโญ Final verdict from Vinnie: โญโญโญโญโญ โญโญโญโญโญ

Fairly disappointing - but possibly has promise?
Disappointing that it comes (faintly stripey) plain green, which means it was probably grown from a cutting, in a dark/shaded place. Which suggests these plants are forced. For those who don't know, Cordyline's need plenty of 'visible light' (PAR light not UV light) all day (but not direct UV sunray light, there's a difference) to develop their colours, and this will take a few months of very bright windowsill exposure to colour up, as it needs to be introduced to the light a little at a time to get used to it. That and the correct watering/plant food regime. Not a plant for the love it and leave it type. It is sturdy looking, if smaller than expected (in bushiness, not height - it was fairly tall, 20-ish cm) with a strong stem but I haven't potted it up yet, I want it to acclimatise first, so I haven't seen the root ball, looks very much like a Dracaena, with thin grass-like leaves, they're not as thick as they could be, again suggesting a young cutting. I will update if it dies off as other reviews have stated.
