HoMedics Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer, Clinically Proven Fast Accurate Results, High-Fever Alert with 4-in-1 Readings

I probably bought a half dozen thermometers over the years before I read a Wirecutter recommendation for this one and bought it. Except for one old-fashioned mercury thermometer that worked well but took forever to get a reading and wasn't comfortable to hold in the mouth, ALL of the others were reliably inaccurate. This is only thermometer I've ever owned that seems completely accurate, fast, and easy to use. Knowing what I now know, I'd never buy anything else. I store it with the batteries removed, because I've lost so many flashlights to leaks and corrosion and I don't want to lose this perfect thermometer.

We don’t have children, but there are times that we don’t feel well and finding a thermometer that’s uncomfortable and has be to be contiguously cleaned off is an added pain. This makes it so much easier and it is so fast. There is just one single beep, so it won’t wake someone up if you just want to keep track of their temperature. I check it against other thermometers we had, as well as my watch, and it completely matched up.

I love this! It was a great buy. I bought it because I went and got a physical exam and I saw that they had the exact same one. I thought that the price was really great and I am in medical school so I use it in my medical bag. It works great for me. I think it’s a great thermometer to just get a quick look at someone’s temperature of course you could use a different device if you want to get a very accurate temp, but I feel that this is perfectly accurate for what I need it for.

This is a total waste of money. I have three oral thermometers which give the exact same reading. This forehead thermometer is typically 2-3 degrees F lower than the actual temperature. This is DANGEROUS if you actually have a high fever. Don’t waste your money - total unreliable junk. I went to my doctor last week with a high fever. In the office, they had this same model thermometer. It tested me a normal. I asked if they could use an oral thermometer and the nurse got a reading of 3.5 degrees higher. THIS PRODUCT IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE PULLED FROM THE MARKET ASAP.

This thermometer makes it so easy to take temperature. It is so quick. I can check someone's temperature while they are resting or sleeping without disturbing. Threw away our 'under the tongue' thermometer when we got this one.
