How to folks drain this tub when using it in an adult bathtub? The drain feature seems useless when used on a flat surface

This tub can fit across the tube securely so you don't have to bend over to the bottom of the bath tub. From this elevated position the drain works perfectly. It also fits across my sink securely. Very convenient.

Where can we find information on whether or not the tub is BPA and phthalate free?

In targets website it states this tub is bpa free.

My sink is rectangular (17" x 12"). Will the tub's base fit inside?

Sounds like a very close fit- The base itself is not a proper rectangle (there are legs & divots to make the tub "fit") but I just measured those lengths to be 17" x 11". So it will be close fitting if it works...
