Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes Of An Elusive Age - Definitive Edition (PS4)

This may be a port of the Switch version but that’s not to say it isn’t worth it. It very much is. It has over 100 quality of life improvements from the original PS4 game, some more noticeable than others. It’s got the orchestral version of the soundtrack. a Japanese voice acting option, you can speed up battles, you can forge anywhere, costumes (of which there are even more) aren’t tied to your armour slots, and theres a 2D mode. Plus trophies that the Switch version didn’t have. And extra story content. And that’s for starters. They weren’t kidding when they said it’s the definitive edition. This is not just some DLC they could have sent out through an update. This is an overhaul. The only negative is the fact that the graphics have been downgraded somewhat because it’s a port of the Switch version. But the positives far outweigh that one negative. And it’s not even that noticeable after a while. All in all, it’s a fantastic JRPG. One of the best I’ve ever played. It’s well worth getting. Even if you’ve played it before on Switch. And even if you’ve played the original, because you should notice all the quality of life changes immediately. But if you haven’t played it before (or haven’t played an RPG before), it’s a chill game with a fairy tale story. And yes it has turn based battles, but don’t let the fact it’s turn based put you off. I like to think of it as a chance to think and strategise without feeling too much pressure. Although you can turn up the battle speed if you wish. And make your teammates auto battle (which I recommend, their AI is pretty smart. Especially when you choose the option to fight smart), and there are options to make the game more difficult before you start, if you don’t want it to be too easy. Although even on the default difficulty there are certain bosses that might trip you up. But that’s to be expected. I could go on but I’ll end it like this. He’s quite the eccentric wordsmith but he’s worth listening to more than I am. The vanilla version was my first Dragon Quest game (although I have since finished the Switch one), he lives and breathes Dragon Quest.

Good game to play if you like playing things with dragons

This is my first ever dragon quest game experience and WOW!! What a well made and beautiful game it looks amazing on the PS4 the graphics and artwork and one of the best looking I’ve seen they truly look absolutely amazing the characters and game play work perfectly and the storyline keeps you gripped and coming back for more I’ve been getting into RPGs just lately and this is definitely in my top 10 RPGs at the moment it’s really good solid game play at its best if your a RPG fan buy it trust me you won’t be disappointed but you’ve never tried RPGs then start with this and you’ll see why there a great genre of game I am definitely a massive fan of dragon quest from this day on I highly highly recommend it and I’m loving this game it’s so addictive too I can spend all day on it and not get bored this game is fantastic and beautiful fast dispatch and delivery too for prime members

I have only played one other dragonquest game, which was Sentinels of the Starry Skies on DS and I while I enjoyed that game, it did not make me a fan of the Dragonquest series. I came to pick up this game and it blew me away, I sunk so many hours into the story. The characters are entertaining, the world is stunning and the soundtrack is amazing. Play this game if you haven't already, you won't regret it, whether you are a fan of JRPGs or new to them, this game is made for you.

This is the best dragon quest I have ever play, so much things to do, story line is good and the graphic is nice. Overall is a good RPG, reminding me of the first FF7 used to be when in PS1. So if you like FF7 the first edition, this is a must buy

fast delivery, packaged well, i am new to the dragon quest franchise and decided to start here, what a game, great graphics, character building, quests and a large open world. will be looking out for future releases of this game

Game not bad. Also like the option that you can change the game play from 3D to old school 2D.

Goo for it! What a great game. Even though it’s the European version, no problems playing it on my US console.

Che dire? Stupendo. Gioco enorme, graficamente meraviglioso soprattutto nei paesaggi. Serie super famosa proveniente dal Sol Levante che non necessita di spiegazioni aggiuntive. Ottima esperienza videoludica senza violenza inutile. Ore e ore di divertimento.
