EART GW2 25.5" Headless Electric Guitar - Roasted Padauk Soild Body/5pc Maple Neck - Alnico-V Pickups, Stainless Frets

I purchased this guitar despite being skeptical about it being any good due to the very affordable price. I also did have a small hiccup with the first guitar I ordered but EART was quick to respond and save the day. Hands down the best support I have seen especially with what seems like a small player in the guitar game, at least here in the US. On to the guitar itself. Aesthetically it is very stunning and easily rivals more expensive guitars in the looks department. Right out of the box the guitar was playable but the action was not to my liking so I spent a few minutes lowering the action as far as it could. This bridge is very good at staying in tune but is a little tricky if it's your first time working on a headless guitar. I figured it out pretty quickly though. Google and YouTube is a good place to start. The body is very comfortable. The pickup routes might not be perfect but for the price I cant complain nor will it ever affect playability. The 5 piece neck feels great with absolutely no problem hitting the 24th fret. The fretwork is very nice and the fret ends are better than even some of my high end USA and Japan made guitars. That being said, it blows guitars in its price range out of the water. I'd compare it to guitars in the $500-$700 range. The pickups sound surprisingly good and the only real drawback I could find is that the guitar is not shielded so you will have some hum. Its quite easy enough to remedy with some shielding paint or even some copper or aluminum tape. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and impressed with the support from EART. Of course for this price it is not perfect but it's damn close in the places that matter. If you're thinking of buying this guitar I would advise you to pull the trigger. Just know you might have to put in some time to set it up a bit.

UPDATE: I don't see it mentioned anywhere else, but regarding the output jack -- When I removed the cavity-cover to look into shielding it, I noticed the jack has 3 terminals on the back... so I plugged in a TRS cable and used the multimeter to check continuity from the terminals to each of tip/ring/sleeve on the other end of the cable. It IS a TRS jack. Mine has the ground wired to the "ring" contact so using a TRS cable doesn't work right, but still... I had to do the amazon replacement on the first one. It had an issue with the bridge being wonky, and the burling of the veneer top was a bit excessive -- to the point that it looked to have some minor chipping around the deeper/wider "pockmarks". It's something I'd be OK with on a used guitar, but not on a new one. These bridges are a neat design, but they do suffer from the issue that they're cast from soft metal instead of being machined from more solid stock. The first one I got seemed to be assembled poorly/incorrectly, with at least one of the grub-screws for saddle-adjustment being crooked and stripping out the hole. ...that's a QA/QC thing, but would be pretty easy to miss. The sort of thing you're only likely to notice when you adjust intonation. Can't hold that one against EART, since they aren't the ones who make these bridges, they just install them. Apart from those two issues, I'm pretty impressed with it. Fretwork is very nicely done -- a little uneven, but they're nicely polished/rounded, no sharp edges, no sprout, no dead-frets, etc. nothing that interferes with the playability. I love that 5-piece neck. Fretboard is smooth. weight is low and balance is perfect. I don't know what sort of pickups are in it, but they sound fantastic. I may replace them eventually, but only if I'm in a tinkering mood... there's not really any other reason I'd want to, they really do sound good. The wiring/soldering in the control-cavity is well-done. ...but I did the amazon replacement thing due to the issues I mentioned earlier. The replacement was better in almost every respect. Not just correcting the things I mentioned, but the grain looks nicer (all over - the top, the back, the neck), the neck feels smoother, the frets are still a tiny bit uneven but they're closer to even than the first one was. If I was really determined to find fault (besides just withing the bridge was more solidly built), I guess the tone-pot is a bit stiff to turn. Not "scratchy", it just doesn't turn smoothly. Strangely, it was like that on the first one too... just the tone pot, not the volume. That may wear-in, or a shot of DeoxIT might fix it. The cover for the control-cavity is almost too perfect a fit, making it difficult to remove. Complaining about anything being "too perfect" feels overly nitpicky though. The cavity is unshielded, but that's an easy fix. ...on the subject of the pots, some folks complained about the knobs on the vol/tone pot... I actually kind of like the way they look, but not the way they feel. Those are the only things I might change right away. If you like headless guitars, this is unquestionable the nicest one I've found for anywhere near this price-point. I might even grow to like it more than my Steinberger.

So, Eart necks are THE BEST production necks, bar none that I've found. They blow Gibson, Fender, PRS, etc. out of the water. Low clean action is super easy to obtain, even if you're a shredder. My only beefs with Earts in general are their pickups which are adequate, but for from inspiring. I swapped the PAF style pups out of mine for some Guitar Fetish Filtertron clones (about $95.00 for the pair!), and the results are STELLAR. Unique and fun and, yes, totally inspiring. The burl wood veneer is gorgeous. Shure I wish it were a cap, not veneer - but c'mon, this axe is cheap! The controls are decent EXCEPT that the pup selector switch on mine is in contact with the backplate - a no no for sure. I may route it down a fraction, or get a shallower switch, but this is clearly a design flaw because the cavity is CNC-machined - they just cut the tolerances a bit too close. I also with the edges were contoured (but I do love the front/back controuting!), but again - for the price, this CNC-formed body is just fine. My last beef? Given how headless guitars don't generally like guitar stands, I wish they'd at least left a wider ' headstock stub' at the nut end so you could hang the guitar. As it is, it's not happy on a stand, and can't be hung - and everyone loves a well-hung guitar! If I can think of a way of drilling a narrow hole sideways through just north of the nut, and putting a wire loop on it, I'll do that and hang it from a peg - but what a pain. In summary though, ALL Eart guitars I've ever played are very usable as-is, and PERFECT as a upgrade platforms (I have three, including a tele-style I've put better Pups into). Quality is much better than some other brands like Firefly -which are notoriously uneven. For the price, nothing beats them, and I defy you to find an easier to play, better leveled, crowned, edged and polished neck for under many thousands of dollars.

After all the (mostly positive) reviews I've watched on Eart guitars, I really wanted to give one a try. I'm also a fan of headless guitars. This one did not disappoint. Quality is excellent. Perfect fret work, no high spots, super polished. The pickups claim to be 57+ Classic PAFs. They sound surprisingly good, if a tiny bit dark and mellow. Neck feels good. The only nit to pick is the bridge tuners. They work and stay in tune well but are a bit fiddly to tune up. I actually cut off a piece of hex wrench and attached a knob so I have a better tool to turn the tuners (better than the mini crank they provide). Adjusting intonation is also tricky because you have to detune and lift up the string to get to the right screws. However, you're presumably not adjusting intonation all that often so not a big deal. I bought this as an Prime Day Lightning Deal. For what I paid, this guitar is easily worth the money and a great bargain. While I definitely have too many guitars (is that possible???), this one is fun and a pleasure to play.

I've played high end Fenders, Gibsons, and Ibanez guitars. This thing is really well build. Right out of the box it looks stunning. I love that they went with more of a stain finish than gloss. The neck is smooth. It isnt a modern C. It's more flat. I'd say closer to a D shape. A cross between an Music Man and a Wizard III neck. It's very comfortable. It has the belly cut an the arm cut for comfort. I have no clue what the wood is besides the Indian rosewood fretboard and the Poplar top, but its hefty and feels good. You can feel the holes in the poar top as well as the grain of the wood on the back. The 5 piece neck is super nice. The stainless steel frets are probably pre cut, but there is no issue with that. The bridge is a generic bridge you can get from amazon (I got the non term version). The pick ups are good, but not amazing. Worth changing if you have the money for better ones. The volume on mine works fine, but the tone is either all the way on or all the way off. I'm having a blast playing this. I even set aside my player plus strat and my JP150. This guitar is incredible. I know this short review wont sell you on it, you have to try it for yourself. The price is more than reasonable and it plays extremely well. Give it a shot. You wont regret it.

from the get go, this has been all downhill. Of course, as all of my stuff I get from here lately has been delayed. frustrating. The guitar itself looks ok but has tuning issues and neck issues. neck has way too much relief, and if you turn the truss rod to adjust it feels super stiff as if it will break if you move it. the bridge just plain sucks. super stiff and its a pain to have to use the little arm every time to adjust it. finish is good, but the neck which is 5 piece, you can totally feel the joining of the woods, very noticeable, not pleasing to play at all. i wanted to like this thing, but right now its just firewood. going to try sending it back, but its a pain waiting to get refunds lately.

First off, there are not many options when considering a headless guitar. Secondly, there are even less affordable options. Eart provides an affordable headless guitar, that surpasses all expectations. I was completely blown away by many aspects of this instrument. The guitar arrived in less than a week in a well-padded box. The fit and finish of this guitar are outstanding. I haven't found any flaws in the finish, there are no sharp frets, and the guitar even arrived with a great setup. Many larger companies will send guitars out with high action and sharp frets. The guitar even features a five-piece neck. The satin finish on this guitar is well done and the back of the body is just beautiful. The pickups on this guitar are quite good. Considering most stock pickups are lacking, I was pleasantly surprised. They handle high-gain well, but there is nothing missing from the cleans either. I have spent the last week putting this guitar through its paces and it has handled everything I've thrown at it. From rehearsals to recordings it has met my every need. Honestly, I have guitars that cost 3x more than this one, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring this to a gig. Slap your favourite strings on this bad boy and you are good to go.

I picked up my GW2 on sale for $312 and for that price it's going to be a hard guitar to beat. Shipped in a press fit Styrofoam and out of the box was very playable. Setup action was fine; intonation was good; strings are of course cheap but felt okay. Threw on some new strings; did a basic setup (I like action a bit lower than it was setup) and I'm a fan. Not a single sharp fret end even going into Winter in the North. Fretboard has a good feel to it. I personally like how these stainless steel frets feel to play on. Some might find it a bit "slippery" at times though I guess. I'm far from an expert guitarist; but the only complaint I have so far is the pickups are lame. I'll probably swap them out at some point. For someone playing live shows a lot I could see the tuners on the bridge being an issue; they can be hard to turn by hand.

For 417 (CDN) plus tax to my door in four days is one thing. For it to look amazing is another. For it to play amazing with ZERO set up is another. Best guitar purchase is a very long time. Playing for 40+ years. played em all, own a few. This guitar feels great - neck is amazing. I could sit here and write for a while about this product. Very happy. Seriously very happy. I don't have a problem with the pick ups or the hard ware. Bridge may need a replacement at some point. Fun Fun Fun.

Out of the box this guitar was flawless. Unbelievable build quality. All it needed was a quick turn of the truss rod. Highly recommended.

When I first got the guitar I was really disappointed with the action. It looks like it was set high to reduce string buzz. I was a little confused because everyone was raving about the low action and easy playability. I was ready to return it after a half hour. The reason for the high action was a considerable bow in the neck. About 2mm at the 8th fret with 1st and 24th fret pressed down. So I proceeded to adjust the neck. I gave the trust rod a quarter turn every half hour until I got less than a half mm at the 8th fret. Then I was able to lower the action way more than my les paul and strat with very minor buzz when playing hard. The action is now perfect. The guitar comes with 10 to 48s but I will soon switch to ernie ball super slinky 9 to 42s which are my preferred strings. Sound wise, the pickups sound really good for a guitar of this price. The neck is smooth and the bridge is less bright than a semour duncan distortion humbucker. But still handles distortion very well. It has 14k ohm bridge and close to 8k ohm at the neck. At the end, it turned out to be a great guitar. Nice look, compact but full scale, light weight compared to my 76 les paul, and a great non-harsh sounding guitar which keeps tune. If you order one and it is not setup properly, take the time to set it up and you will have a great guitar. Highly recommended.

This guitar is so comfortable to play! Neck feels wonderful, action is low without buzzing, it's ergonomic and back feels less tired. Love it so much. I've played a number of electric guitars over the years, and my eart Headless has become my favorite.

Seems like a nice guitar, very difficult to tune as the "crank" for the tuning knobs was missing from my order.
