It adds a soft shine to your locks but I’m not sure why it is advertised for thickly, heavy, curls because none of the oils used in it are actually supposed to be used on thick, curly hair. The oils used are typically used on thin, fine hair and thus it definitely adds a little shine - which fades in a few hours leaving hair as dull as before.
