Best tire out there IMO. 32's are best for smoothing out the roads and providing some extra surface grip. Only difference in this tire and the Hardshell version is the Hardshell is so slightly thicker tread on top and weights a little more. Tire are super grippy, exactly what one needs on a road bike. You get plenty of miles out of them if you rotate the front to the read tires every so often. NOTE: These are directional tires, look on the side of the tire for "rotation arrow" to ensure you put them on correctly.

I doubt there is any debris not found on South Florida roads and bike lanes. You name it, we're riding over it. Add hot asphalt to the mix, and this area is not tire-friendly at all. I've been riding on these tires for about eight years now (first time with BE's). They are great because there are very few surprises with the Gatorskins. My experience as a daily rider, is a solid two years incident-free, and then the tread thins out. Miles beyond that are a bonus. They are expensive, sure, but reliability costs. The big downside is the installation. They are very hard to get on a rim with the tube intact. Powdering the tube and soaping the rim make a huge difference. That and a slow pace get the job done. No other tire for me.

Since transitioning from a road bike to a carbon fiber hybrid, Gatorskins (700x32) have been the most dependable, long-lasting tire to give me 1.5 to 2 K miles with no punctures or flats. The sleek tread inflated at 85 psi gives me comfort, speed and agility. Couldn’t recommend a better overall tire.

Great tires for all around road biking, all in all not much difference in weight and rolling resistance as compared to higher end racing tires. Exceptional for wear and road hazard issues.

I've been running Conti 5000 for several years now on all my road bikes. They have the perfect blend of lightweight but still puncture resistant. Fast tread but reasonably long wear. I find them my go to and have run every size from 25mm on an older Pinarello F10, 32mm on a Santana Carbon Tandem, 28mm on my travel bike. All have performed really well. I likely have 20k miles on these over the years. Seem to get about 1200-1500 miles out of a pair. But I could ride them longer if I wanted.

These are very nice tires. I have a hard time spending sixty plus on a bike tire but that's the going rate these days I guess.

You never go cheap when it comes to tires, for your car or your bike, and while these tires aren’t crazy expensive, they do cost a bit more than some other brands. I choose Gatorskins for my road bikes over the GP5000s just because though they may be a bit slower, the trade off for the flat protection is worth it to me. I really like these Black Editions as the bright yellow lettering on the standard Gatorskins is a little tacky looking on my vintage road bikes. I’ve read complaints of Gatorskins being a bit slick in the rain, I rarely ride the bikes I have these mounted on in wet conditions but the few times I have, I haven’t had any issues. I have had these Gatorskins on 2 different bikes for almost a year, and haven’t had any flats, and they seem to be wearing well. I am taking a star off the review because they definitely live up to their reputation as being difficult to mount, I have come up with several new strings of curse words in the process of mounting these!

As a 25 year DC bike messenger still doing Uber Eats part time I swear by Gatorskins. Best bead to bead puncture resistance on the market in my opinion.

Upon opening the worn boxes I found that one tire is completely slashed open and both tires are extremely dirty looking like they've already been used. Both tires look like they've been stored and folded for a very very long time, hence the damage and worn look.

Tried running them at 65-95psi, and can't find a match for the ride quality I like. Yes, they are bulletproof. But coming from riding plush Panaracers to these, I'm a little bummed these gotta last me one more season. You feel a lot of the road, and they don't tend to conform to the road, but tend to ride/bounce over imperfections. Good if you never want a flat, but I wouldn't buy them again
