For those who don’t know, that’s sirachi sauce. Personally, I could eat this chili sauce with all my meals and pass on the rooster sauce.It’s got that special umami taste that’s indescribable. It didn’t spice at all but enhances all your Asian and non-Asian meals. I made some Asian noodle dish and my husband and I literally used half the jar. It was that good! That’s coming from a couple that has expired condiments in the fridge and tend to throw things out b/c it’s unused after a year or two. Not with this sauce. I’m someone who doesn’t enjoy really spicy food. I enjoy spice (heat) as a component of the flavor, but if it’s too hot I can’t taste anything else. When that happens I can’t enjoy the rest of my meal. For example, many Buffalo sauces are too hot for me, but I do enjoy a mild Buffalo sauce. Jalapeño peppers can be too spicy for me. If I’m following a recipe that calls for 1 jalapeño, I’ll start with a quarter of it, then taste and add more. I had read the good reviews, but wasn’t sure about trying it because it is, after all, named SPICY Chili Crisp. I finally decided to potentially waste the money in order to try it. To my surprise, I find it very mild. Unbelievably, I think it could even be spicier! I like the fact that I get a tiny amount of heat but can still taste, and enjoy, the garlic and onion flavor.
