Can this be set to Celsius or is it only in herp derp Fahrenheit?

It can be set to Celsius which is how I use it.

Can this be permanently set to Celsius, many reviews state it can not, it has to be set by changing a switch on every use, is this correct?

Hello, inside the battery compartment on the back are four white dip switches. In Celsius mode the white switch nearest the metal probe, will be "up". Using a pen press the switch "down", and this will put it in Fahrenheit mode.
