I bought the larger one and I have used it twice already. I had taken a cooking course in Marrakech and loved that cuisine. Quite lovely. Food comes out moist and tasty Be sure to follow directions for seasoning the tagine pot prior to first use (soak in water overnight, dry it, wipe it well in olive oil, place in oven at 325 for 2 hours)

Exactly as described, this is an attractive Tagine that is easy to handle.

I spent some time in Morocco a few years ago, and I've wanted a Tagine ever since... I didn't have room in my suitcase to buy one there. This one is beautiful; the painting is exactly as good as it appears from the photo, and it was VERY thoroughly packed so that there was no chance of damage during shipping. Many of the Tagines out there are intended only as serving vessels, so I was glad to find that this one is safe for cooking, even if it's only at low heat. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I'll update this review if there's anything unexpected.

We bought this for our son in law. He's Moroccan. He knew how to cook using this stuff. He's been living in America now so he missed his tagine a lot. He uses it almost on a daily basis in his country, so he longed to have it here. The problem was that this we bought doesn't have a good resistance for the changes in temperature. Those they use in Casablanca have this capacity, but the one we bought to him -apparently- required a careful treatment for this issue (hot water/cold water). The important thing is, after knowing this, our son in law talked to his father and he told him how to prepare food with the tagine without damaging it. At last, he had only to take some care in preparing hot meals, nothing more. In fact, he did it (see the photo). Finally, everybody found this apparatus beautiful. I mean it. They loved it.

I was a bit worried about this getting to me safely but it was packaged very carefully. A booklet with some recipes and care instructions came with it. It has to sit in a vat of water for over 24 hours before use. I personally used a diffuser to cook on. I love the colors and it matches a lot of my other favorites so was very excited to use it. I purchased the larger one and a bit of a heads up, it takes a bit to get to simmering. I have made Tangine before but I love having this to make it in. Nothing like slow cooking in clay. The meat was so tender, the flavors amazing and so worth the wait. I highly recommend it. We had a blast sitting on the floor and attempting to be authentic. Absolutely lovely!!!

I brought one home with me from my trip to Morocco because I fell in love with Tagines. The small one took up almost a third of my large suitcase so I couldn’t bring back a larger one with me. I was absolutely thrilled to find the big one on Amazon. Now I can cook the Tagine main dish in the bigger one and Couscous in the smaller one. The large Tagine came perfectly protected and wrapped. I am totally in love with my two Tagines! I bought the large size pot on Amazon. However, I am extremely disappointed: it cracked the second time I used it. I am attaching a picture…. So unhappy

The tagine is really pretty and nicely painted. The top and base are sturdy and well made. It looks great on my shelf and gives the lovely, warm and rustic effect I wanted, so I'm happy with it. I did initially receive a mismatched top and base but the seller was responsive and sent a replacement.

excellent service and seller was quick to response and will give you best solution if you have any issue. the tagine clay pot is very beautiful and hand crafted with good quality doesn't come in contact with food. this pottery is huge and worth the exceptional price.it heat up very fast and cook slow but your chicken or meat comes out so tender you won't regret using it. they shipped very fast and item arrived in few days. would recommend everyone.
