Godiva Chocolatier Assorted Belgian Gift Box, Assorted Chocolates

This GODIVA chocolate was horrible. We opened a box this evening for ourselves, and the chocolate was not only melted, but discolored. Yuk. Really looked yuk. Opened another box - not quite as melted, but certainly discolored and did not even taste like GODIVA at all..... the ONE piece I "choked down". Although expiration date was 2016, something obviously has happened to these boxes of chocolate. Unfortunately, I had already given out four boxes as Christmas gifts. Unfortunately again, I ordered NINE boxes. Lesson learned. Sad. Sad and horrible. Yuk. I have never written a review - EVER.THIS was such a huge disappointment. And, embarrassing since four people likely opened up a box of icky. One star? Umm, no. Can I warn people without pressing a star? Yuk. Yuk. Horrible! No star.

Wife ordered these for Valentine's day. Packaging is pleasantly formal. The chocolates come in two levels within the package with each level having exactly the same layout in terms of chocolate - not a bad thing if you like the chocolates, and especially good for a couple who want to taste test without snitching from the other. While some chocolates had a very slight wax texture to the chocolate itself, they were uniformly good and there were no fillings that caused a "yech" reaction for either of us. On the contrary, the wife ordered a second box a few days later! In comparison, a package of Ghirardelli chocolate wafers was also had around the same time. The chocolate was waxy and tasteless in comparison and the filling...oh the filling. Suffice to say it tasted awful (especially the strawberry or whatever chemical cocktail was and being labeled as such) and did even worse things to the digestive tracts. Both the wife and I ended up feeling unwell and steered clear. Perhaps it was a bad batch, but most of those Ghirardelli wafers ended up in the trash.In closing, while these were a little more pricey than most Hershey's, Dove or Russel Stover offerings, they are still a good value for a rather fancy treat.

Product arrived melted together. Had to be refrigerated to eat. They certainly weren't what we were expecting. I thought Godiva chocolates were supposed to be out of this world but they tasted more like something out of K-Mart. Save your money and get Whitman sampler or Fanny May.

I bought these for my fiancé for Christmas because she loves Godiva chocolates. We were expecting great chocolates, we were greatly disappointed. They are all waxy tasting and feeling and have minimal flavor. Will be finding other chocolates to replace them.

I purchased my box directly from Amazon. It was shipped inside styrofoam and with cold packs - no melted chocolate, and all look and (so far) taste fresh. My disappointment is due to the quality - some of the pieces aren't much better than your typical drugstore chocolate, and seem waxy.It seems that Godiva cut corners with this set...I'm hoping that their overall quality isn't getting worse.

Good price on Godiva Chocolate. However, I think the quality of Godiva is over-hyped. It seems the majority of their care is put into the packaging and presentation instead of on the product.
