A: This is “SMOOTH” newsprint regardless if the picture posted.

**Q: The title says smooth, newsprint paper but the picture shows rough surface.  Is this a smooth surface pad?**
A: It is a smooth surface. I do not recommend to buy this one.

**Q: Would the rough texture be good for oil pastels?**
A: It’s too soft a texture for pastels. This is more for sketching and charcoal.
