I bought a low end Asus Vivobook 14 model X1404ZA laptop from a retailer whose staff typically wear blue shirts, during a deal of the day promotion. The laptop is based on an Intel Core i3 1215U and had 8GB of DDR4 3200 RAM soldered directly onto the motherboard. After some research I found there is a lone SODIMM socket on the motherboard. After more research, I found I could populate this with a 16GB SODIMM or an 8GB SODIMM. I ultimately went with the 8GB SODIMM as from research, the Vivbook14 will go into dual channel operation which would net a little bit better iGPU performance. As far as the actual SODIMM goes, it is as spartan and no frills as you can get. It was easy to install and the Vivobook 14 recognized it without issue for a total of 16GB RAM in dual channel mode. I have bought my fair share of Crucial products over the years. RAM, SSD's, and NVME SSD's. They are a solid reliable choice and I typically look at Crucial's options in a given product segment they serve before looking at other vendor options.

I have a Dell Inspiron that had 8gb of ram but the OS was using up to 6gb of ram when I did not have much running on the laptop. There was some noticeable lag if running a program and a browser but the laptop still worked fine for average use. Installed the ram (pretty easy install), made sure it was recognized and working and did not notice any difference at first other than having more ram available. When I ran an editing program, multiple files open and also had a browser open is when I truly noticed that the laptop is noticeably quicker. It is not a "change the world" difference but there is definite improvement when there is more open on the laptop. Scrubbing a timeline on a video editor is a little smoother and less stuttery but still not near what my dedicated desktop is. For the price of ram now it is an easy upgrade that makes the laptop a little easier to work with if working multiple programs. The graphics processor should work a little better as well due to the dual channel ram but I am not going to try to game on what is essentially a thrifty but capable home/school/work laptop. I might not need he extra 8GB for most of my daily use but seeing the improvement with more of a load on it makes it worth it to me.

Can confirm that this works with Acer Nitro 5, since the factory settings were 2933 MHz for my laptop this product easily changed its frequency to match my motherboard without any bios configuration needed from my side.
