I wanted to make authentic Louisianan red beans and rice. I ignored all the recipes that used kidney beans. I had to come to Amazon to find real Central American silky red beans. The only thing kidney beans have in common are the color and the fact that they are beans. The finished product was absolutely fabulous. I'd buy them again if they cost twice as much. Unlike other reviewers. I don't think that six bucks was too much to pay for having a hard to find item delivered to my door.

So, if you haven't bought frijoles de seda un El Salvador recently you might think they're super expensive. But, prices are out of control (look it up) and getting them delivered to my door in US is awesome and worth the price. We go through 2-4 lbs a week so subscribe and save works for us and wasn't cheaper than ordering out pizza. If you like any old bean, they're a bit pricey, but if you know frijol de seda es lo mejor, sin duda these are the real deal.
