Polly Sand - Purple

Wonderfully soft, high-quality sand. About two large (adult female) handfuls worth in a small tin container that I transferred to a larger bowl/container for space and is currently sitting on my desk. I have an at-times stressful desk job and am a nail-biter. To try to give my hands something to do while idle, I purchased this and was surprised to find it remarkably therapeutic. Ordering a second container because I thought it would be more fun to build with during downtime and you do gradually 'lose' volume because some is typically leftover on your fingers and you just brush it off to the floor. Recommend not adding water at all and making sure your hands are dry/clean ( I have a hand towel on my desk for before/after use. Also for wiping away sand I can't see per say from my mouse pad but I can feel/hear it is on there somewhere.)

Pay attention to the hand reference photo on this listing! The box is a little smaller than I was thinking, but that picture shows it accurately. Aside from that, I'm happy with this. Keep in mind that you might get a better deal on Kinetic Sand in a bag but with this you're also paying for a more attractive metal box. Mine has a small dent in it, but still looks nice on my desk and is better than a stress ball. :)If buying for a kid, I wouldn't get this one because of the small quantity, but it's what I was looking for!

if you have any sort of anxiety or sense of nervousness, this sand will instantly calm you!!! its just so amazing to hold and squeeze. If I had to guess, I would imagine it working well with children who have special needs to help calm them. I attempted to take a small amount and add an essential oil... don't do that! I could have gotten the ratio down, but I was thinking it would add an extra bonus. If anyone figures that out, please let me know.

I bought 2 of these and they are awesome! I gave one to my friend and she absolutely loves it. It does give off VERY LITTLE color when u work it on the same surface for a long time. However, it doesn't bother me cause it's not a stain. I would buy it again.

Reading some of the comments on here and for the other colors I thought I would be getting a tiny tin of sand but when it came a day early I was surprised how much I got! I got the purple so pretty. This doesn't come with molds just the sand and it is pretty cheap compared to a lot of other brands. Brookstone has a set that's like over $60 I just wanted this for a kind of a stress relief and it's perfect! 5 stars!

Smaller than you’d expect but plenty of sand for one child. The sand dries out quickly, but the kids just add water and it’s back to moving!

This is the best sand product I have found. For fun I had one of my undergraduate college classes (in art therapy) experiment with a wide variety of kinetic sands for the purpose of assessing the material and its uses with diverse populations. This was the students number one favorite sand. It is soft and soothing to the touch, pliable while not being sticky, and colorful. We also liked the container.

I was skeptical because some of the reviews were not good. But I think this product is excellent. It is packaged well in a nice little tin. The sand is super soft. It’s going to be a real hit with my daughter at Christmas time!
