Review: Excellent flow, great taste, right certifications - Purchased due to PFAS readings from our municipal water supply. The certifications were important to me and I didn't trust filters that supposedly last years. 6 months seems right, and while it's a new household expense, it seems worth it after installation. The parts & instructions were well made & written. Based on another helpful review, I purchased 3 inexpensive extra parts that eliminated the white piece that connects directly to the water supply line since it seemed to improve durability and ensure good flow. I hope they might upgrade their parts package to do this for future customers. The filter is long, and the best way to install under my sink was horizontal, which made it harder to reach the furthest screws, but not impossible, and now replacement is that much easier. Upon first test, heard the water try and make its way through but there was almost no flow. Long story short, something made its way to the faucet head, which once I cleaned it out, the flow seemed almost (90% or more) like pre-install. (Sigh of relief). I also had to reseat the connectors to the filter head housing to ensure no leaking. I put a small container underneath just to be sure, but it's been dry since day one. Water tastes very good, and it feels good to have done the best we can to improve the quality / health of our drinking water. Update: wanted to say that the 7 months that it was left in, the water flowed well and tasted good consistently. When the flow started to get noticeably slower, I was surprised at how easy it was to just change out the filter with no leaks. I did my best to shake the retained water out before disposing since it was kind of heavy. Don't forget to let it run for ~15 minutes after installing.
Review: “Direct Connect” only if you have exactly the right connection - I wanted to like this filter and had already mounted it when I discovered that the supplied dual-port adapter only fits 3/8-inch water lines. My sink has a 1/2-inch connection. That alone would not have caused this review—I was willing to purchase adapters and make it work safely. What changed my mind was Aquasana’s support. I spoke with three employees, and none could identify the required fittings, recommend a safe solution or direct me to a compatible company part. I was simply told they could not help. I cannot evaluate the filtration because I returned it before running water through it. I am reviewing the misleading installation experience, limited compatibility and support behind the product. For pressurized plumbing that requires proprietary replacement cartridges every six months, competent long-term support matters. I chose not to reward this experience with recurring purchases.

**Q: What nsf certifications does this have exactly? i do not see listed on nsf site for having 401 or 473. aquasana response only please.**
A: The AQ-MF-1 is independently tested and certified to NSF standards by IAPMO. You can find the certificates on the IAPMO Product Listing website under file numbers: WP-10706 for NSF 42, WP-10707 for NSF 53 which now includes PFOA/PFOS, WP-11684 for NSF P473-2016, and WP-12506 for NSF/ANSI 401-2017a.

**Q: I can use this and skip the extra faucet? Enough filtered water to get through hand washing, dishwashing etc?**
A: If you mean you want to connect the cold water line of your kitchen faucet to this filter, then Yes. However, the filter is going to severely reduce the flow of cold water. You're going to find that extremely annoying.

Additionally, having so much water filtered (not just for drinking but also for your handwashing, food washing, dishwashing) means your filter is going to get clogged sooner. You're going to have to buy/replace this filter several times a year instead of just twice a year.

**Q: Will this filter remove trihalomethane?**
A: Yes. The performance data sheet indicates that this filter removes 95% of four substances listed as trihalomethanes (THMs) - bromodichloromethane, bromoform, chloroform, and chlorodibromomethane.

**Q: I want convert it to flow in its own dedicated spout and I have low water pressure in a rural county, would you recommend this?**
A: It would be perfectly fine.

I had some issues with leaking at the adapter. Aquasana sent another adapter with instructions to use Teflon tape. Worked perfectly! I'm very happy with the filters performance and quality.
