Max & Lily Modern Farmhouse Low Loft (Twin), with Storage Drawer, White Wash

Very, very pleased with this bed. We were looking for something that would offer our 12 year old daughter a place to maintain a permanent fort and this fit the bill. The forts in the living room were getting a little old as I didn’t have the heart to make her take a fort down until I saw that she had stopped using it with any real consistency. She is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs 85 pounds. She is able to crawl in and out with ease, and while it is too low of a ceiling for her to fully sit up underneath, there is plenty of room to crawl around and lean against her pillows to enjoy a book, electronics, or a snooze. The bed itself is able to accommodate plenty of weight. I don’t recall the exact number from the advertisement, but it is definitely sturdy and well manufactured. My daughter and I (mom) put it together ourselves without any issues; took about 4 hours I’d say…we just worked a couple hours over two days. The instructions were clearer than most that I have encountered in my 45 years, with the parts nicely labeled to eliminate guessing. The only tools you’ll need, in addition to the Allen wrenches that are provided, is a drill with a Phillips head bit and a Phillips head screwdriver (to use to tighten the screws and make them flush—the drill at that stage can strip a head). The wood looks like it is painted with a dull, white primer (not glossy or shiny) and has a nice feel to it. Some spots have a little roughness to them, but I think it is the aesthetic look that the manufacturer was going for, rather than sloppy craftsmanship. I also like the option to have the book shelf and drawer on the left or the right…we chose the right due to the configuration of her room. We also chose not to install the drawer itself as it takes up a lot of space inside the fort. We simply glued the face of the drawer on with some wood glue; it just looks like it was meant to be a faux drawer. The bed itself is about halfway up the wall, which is nice as it is not so tall that it overcrowds or make the room look small. You will not need a boxspring with this. She had one with her old bed, but when we put on both the boxspring and the mattress, it made the top of the mattress flush with the top of the wooden sides. Not safe. Using just the mattress itself allows her to have the protection of the wooden sides in the event she rolls at night. I really cannot think of any cons. It is very sturdy once it is assembled and it checks all of our boxes. I hope this review is helpful. Bought for my grandson 10 that used his closet as his “man cave” 😂 He spends hours in it!! I was afraid it would be too young for him. I took the chance since other loft beds were higher and we worried about hitting his head on the fan. You know boys wrestling or being boys!! The cave below is low in height and he can’t sit straight up but can sit cross legged and hunched and loves laying and reading. He is almost 5 ft tall. The instructions were great! The box is very heavy!!It takes two people to put together since sometimes one has to hold a piece while the other screws. If not doing that I would set out the pieces for the next step. It helps to have a bowl to put screws in since there aren’t extra. The bed turned out great!!! One side on the bottom is made to be against a wall since it is open. We liked that since he then had access to a plug for light and fan. We may use the bed longer than anticipated because with open side we will turn it around and use as storage (college dorm style ) Just our thought.

I am very impressed with this bed. It is heavy and once it is put together is very well made. All the pieces of the bed are made up of solid wood. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble the entire bed. Make sure you take your time and do not lose any of your screws because there is no extra. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I like how each step was illustrated and in exact detail. Once built it is very stable and durable. My 4 year old son was thrilled with his big boy bed. The bed is so cute in person. It is comfortable for him. I like the safety bars across the sides that has a little tray that I will put his little tablet on.

Super sturdy and pretty easy to put together. Great value for money. It gets 4 stars though because a piece was slightly crushed on the bed rail. Almost perfect

Update. The most annoying thing about this product page is that it doesn't tell you what the dimensions are of the fort under the bed if you choose the book shelf option on either side of the center ladder. I just went to measure it. It's 33" wide by 72" long by 26" high. Aka plenty of space to be a secret fort. The only things I wish for this bed after assembling it and having it for a couple of weeks: A. For the price, the company could've easily used a VOC free paint to keep our kids safer. Valspar has a VOC free line at Lowes or Home Depot at budget prices. B. Again for the price, the back paneling for the bookcases annoy me. They are very thin and warped so I had to hold them with my feet to try to straighten them out as I drilled the parts together with an impact driver. Not only that, but the shade of color is completely different than the rest of the bed. Okay not a huge deal for a kid's room but still annoying. C. I wish that the manufacturer would put the underside fort dimensions on their product photo. It's very inconvenient to have to search through customer reviews to try to find out how big it is inside of there and then have to just order it hoping your kid can move around there easily. By the way, I'm happy to report that I (5'9") can crawl in and lay down in there easily and so can my 45" 5 year old. It took me forrrrrever to assemble this. Probably 2-3 hrs per night over 3 nights with a lot of 5 year old and household task interruptions. Now, keep in mind that I didn't have much experience with assembling furniture before this so this is probably why. I highly recommend not assembling this yourself without an impact driver. It's nice that the bed came with a screw driver but if you don't have callouses already on your hands and fingers, you will get a lot of blisters with just a screw driver in addition to the allen wrenches. Plus also, and this is really important, don't try to reinvent the wheel (wherever that strange phrase came from) with organizing the hardware into your own ziplock bags or containers. Leave the hardware where it is with the matching labels or you'll make this so much harder. You're welcome.

Solid bed! Exactly as pictured. The kid loves it. Assembly took about 2.5 hrs by a professional. I love the bed, but it has a strong smell that lingers.

I ordered two. Sat in the garage till I was done. Swapped carpet, paint room installed some can lights. In the kids room. Finally open one box up about three months later. Found broken frames and parts that wood is splitting. With one box. Part number 2 is split Part number 4 one side was completely broken. haven’t even open the second one yet. This was bought September of 2025. I would not recommend this or buy it again. Some how I’m suppose to trust this to support my kids. Nothing stable with this. This would cost me more to get this to A return. Then just cutting my lost And start gluing Cheap product I ignored the mixed reviews and ended up one that’s broken hopefully number two is not broken

Our son is very happy with his new bed. It’s not super high up and the hangout spot under it, is what every kid dreams of! It’s his secret little fort and he loves it. The shelves are a big plus as well. Pretty solid wood and hardware. A little on the pricey side but it’s a beautiful and cool unit!

This is a good job to assemble there is many step read well the instruction like "only tighten to 80%" ( for next step ). Once assemble it's amazing for the kid and you can hop in with your toddler even if your 255lbs like me or even more.

good instructions, quality product. as described. will be buying a second one.

Some parts were flimsy upon assembly and split when attaching but my son LOVES it 2 small parts were missing
