QUICK Fix for a broken prop rod clip!
This worked like a charm for my TJ. It comes in 2 pieces. You have to install the base into the hood before installing the clip to the base. Once installed it held the pro rod very tight. No rattle. The complete process took about 45 seconds. I was impressed with its quality as well. Great job JSP!

Make sure to use the correct rectangular hole!
I purchased this for my 2001 Jeep TJ. It did not fit, it was too small for the hole. So I returned it.MY MISTAKE. I was trying to use the wrong hole. The square hole that is about 1/2" square is the wrong hole.Just behind the square hole is a smaller rectangular hole and that is the correct one.

perfect fit for 2004 TJ
Another site wanted $35 for the OEM part. This one looked exactly like it. The hardest part was getting the broken clip out of the hood, I just went at it with some sturdy wire clippers. After that, insert the upper part first, THEN the lower part into the upper part, until it snaps. They mate together permanently and the upper part expands to stay in the hole. Be sure you have the clip oriented in the right way to hold the rod before clipping together. I don't know about durability yet, but if this one breaks, I'll invest in a steel holder.

READ THIS IF IT DOESN'T FIT
As mentioned in other reviews, you have to insert the top piece into the hood first, then connect the bottom piece. If you connect the two halves beforehand, it won't fit. Makes sense if you look at the design. I spent a minute or so being frustrated/confused as others weren't reporting the same issue.Beyond that, it works perfectly. We'll see about longevity.

Perfect replacement
Worked perfectly. Direct replacement for the broken on our 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Toughest part of the install is removing to old one. Less than one minute to install the new one.

Just like OEM
I got tired of the rod flopping around and bit the bullet. These are shockingly expensive for what they are so get them on sale. Given the two piece design they don’t come apart easy and are destroyed in the process. Removing the old piece (I assume OEM) was still tough and pliable. New piece went in well but felt more ‘plasticky’ and may becoming brittle over time. Will update if it falls prematurely.
