GearWrench 9412 12 Piece Metric Ratcheting Wrench Set My husband is a beginning mechanic at a shop where he needs a lot of his own tools. I have been gradually surprising him with tools that he needs as I can afford them. This set is very nice and sturdy. When I gave them to him for Christmas he was very pleasantly surprised and has told me several times how much he appreciated them and how well they are working for him. He told me that several people at work often ask to use some of the larger wrenches in the set, and that they are fluid in their movement and very well working. He was thrilled that they were clearly marked with the metric system. They are well made and function beautifully and best of all they have a lifetime manufacturers warranty. This really sold me when researching wrenches. I can say for the price point, it would be hard to beat these wrenches.

I had been looking for a set of ratcheting metric wrenches to go with a set of ratcheting SAE wrenches I already owned and stumbled across these. I am obviously not a mechanic, but I do dabble in the shop from time to time. I had heard of Gear Wrench before, but had never purchased any of their tools. I liked the quality of these so much that I also ordered a set of Gear Wrench 3/8" drive sockets.

The best affordable ratchet wrenches you can get. VERY TOUGH!. I put these through the test and I'm very impressed. I worked at a junk yard with these and they can take a beating. But they will EVENTUALLY break but very worth it.

Generally quite happy with these, and considering the price, they're excellent. The ratchet ends are tight, have a good feel in use, and fit well to standard sized fastener heads. Minor gripes: -The flats on the open ends are rougher than I would like to see, which may lead to premature wear in the coating at these high spots -The 13mm wrench open end is dented/dimpled after using it to counter-hold a nut while undoing the other side with a (manual, i.e. non-impact) ratchet. Still usable, but disappointing to see damage after just a couple of average uses

I purchased these a while ago so have had a long time to gauge the quality of these tools. They've been a good investment so far, I use them often when working on cars so they have been tested rigorously and have come out on top. Mid-ranged price for good quality, Yes I recommend them.

This was my first big ticket gear wrench purchase and these are now the main wrenches I reach for first when doing anything whether it’s on my vehicle or around the house. Very good quality and durability and will always get the job done. I would compare it to the likes of Snap On in terms of quality, except you don’t need a bank loan to afford one.

This Gearwrench ratchet wrench set is very nice. It seems well made. The ratcheting system has a high gear count, making it more usable in places where movement is limited. The price of the metric set was a lot cheaper than the SAE set. Nice addition to any toolbox without breaking the bank.

Update: Over 3 years on and they are excellent spanners. Have been through drops, dust and water from farm work, can tell they're great quality. Sometimes it would be handy to have a little more angle so knuckles are not scraped, though the slim fit is handy in other applications. Have bought a second much cheaper black-finish set for home use. Definitely not the smooth quality gears and finish of these. You get what you pay for. Made in China, not Mexico. A little bit of play between clicks, as others have noted. Very slightly angled ring. Seem pretty solid tools, looking forward to using for work.
