The plates were very sturdy. I would say these are for one year and up. My grandson is only 10 months, but my daughter is using the different compartments for his main food and then his dessert. My little grandson is just learning how to pick up things and throw it so these are a lifesaver. I am going to have to go and check their other products. They have been through the wringer and back!! Not only did we buy these when I first had my three-year-old, I’ve had another child since and they are still holding up great! Somehow along the way one has been lost, but the two that we still have are doing amazing. There’s no breakdown, no staining, no odors, no taste or smell getting stuck in the silicone that I see happening with other plates. They’re not too heavy, and the kids have no issues holding them.
