Who have thunk it? That a product comprising 3 pieces of heavy duty moulded plastic could be so effective? The rave reviews were spot on: this thing is brilliant - simple in concept and to use. Satisfying in use too. The empty aluminium capsules, once rinsed, stack together nicely and take up little space in my recycling bin. The coffee grounds may be either composted at home or recycled via the 'food waste only' bin. No more bagging, labelling and dropping my used capsules at a shop 6 miles away to be posted for recycling. On the face of it £10 for this simple plastic product seems a lot, but I've decided that I'm happy to pay a premium for something which has been well-designed, seems very robust and works really well. I now only wish Dualit offered a delux version that rinses the residual coffee grounds out of the pods as well ( it is a bit of a messy process).

So simple to use. Managed to get 2 weeks of pods recycled in minutes. Much happier using pods now knowing the coffee grounds are going in the garden and the aluminium is being recycled.

Fantastic gadget for recycling pods AND topping up your compost with the grinds. Brilliant. Avoids the build up of old pods whilst you wait to recycle.

I really like the idea of being able to recycle coffee capsules in the domestic waste rather than having to arrange shipping back to the manufacturer, This is a simple gadget made of good quality materials that does the job of emptying the coffee grinds out of the capsule so it can be recycled as metal. The only down side is that coffee grinds stick to the capsule and any residual liquid also sits around the neck of the container making it all a bit messy yo use.

I absolutely love design like this: simple, analogue and a clever solution to a environmental problem. Once you try it you wonder how you lived without it! I leave the pods for a few days so that the grounds are not too wet, then give the capsules a quick rinse after in waste 'grey' water. I have tried using the left-over grounds for all sorts of things, but my teenage daughter has discovered that if you mix them with coconut oil and vanilla you can make delicious-smelling, exfoliating body scrub!

It's not perfect: I'm finding that around 10% of the pods I'm using it on have either not fully flattened, or have ended up inside the reservoir with the grounds, but I'm giving it five stars anyway because it's a brilliantly simple idea, it addresses a globally serious issue, it's fun to use, it feels chunky and robust, and some complete genius designed it to look like a coffee pod! I love mine, and I'm planning to buy several more as gifts. Some things are annoying if they're not 100% perfect; this is wonderful even though it's not perfect. Highly and enthusiastically recommended!

Smaller than I thought, but it is a great little gizmo. Squashing the Nespresso pods is so satisfying. I can't put them in the recycling as my council will not accept them. So I will continue to return the empty pods to Nespresso, but because they are empty I can get more in the bag, so don't have to have them collected as often. The spent coffee grounds are a welcome addition for my garden.

This is going to sound daft, but whatever…. This is the best gadget I have ever bought on Amazon, bar none. Beautifully simple design, robust build, genuinely satisfying to use, and you end up recycling the Al pods and the coffee grounds. No more Nespresso guilt. Fantastic!

Un excellent produit facile à utiliser et efficace. J'ai passé plusieurs centaines de capsules, elles ne sont que très rarement déchirées et jamais coincées. Il est facile à démonter et nettoyer. On peut presser avec les deux mains. Je ne trouve pas le plastique très épais mais malgré mon utilisation intensive il ne montre pas de signe de faiblesse.

This thing! Fabulous idea! Instead of buying those Nespresso recycling postage bags, being annoyed because they're out of stock, blah blah blah...this neat little gadget makes recycling those pods a breeze. Coffee grounds stay in the bottom until they go on my garden and the remaining aluminium goes straight into my household recycling. Best. Idea. Ever.

Funziona perfettamente con le capsule di caffè Nespresso, siano esse originali o compatibili (purché di alluminio). Con poco sforzo riesco ad estrarre il caffè dalle capsule utilizzate, permettendomi così di riciclare la capsula vuota di alluminio ed il caffè che posso utilizzare per creare del compost. Un prodotto semplice che svolge perfettamente la sua funzione.
