The machine is a bit lightweight so pushing hard can result in a distorted cut.. but its not necessary to push hard. The only issue is that due to the oval shape of my loaf I have to cut it down the middle for the bread to fit on the carrier at its widest. I make it in y 3l slow cooker so I woukd need a different method in order to make a different shape loaf. I like the safety button feature but as others have said, when slicing from a rounded shape the pusher needs adjusting regularly and this switches the machine off. I think its worth this minor interruption to keep my fingers safe.
