My 3 yr old granddaughter had been singing "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotmas will do" for two weeks before Christmas after she learned it at pre-school. The week before Christmas her mom took her to see Santa and the ONLY thing she requested from him was a hippopotomus. There were no hippos in the numerous stores her mom and I visited. Finally just a couple of days before the holiday I finally took time to look on Amazon and here he was waiting for us!The plain brown box, with the smiley face, arrived Dec 24 as promised, thank you Amazon Prime, and as my granddaughter came down the stairs Christmas morning to a toy kitchen and a new doll and wheeled toys and lots of other goodies she proclaimed, "Santa brought my Hippopotamus!" Jellycat Hippo is perfect. Soft and cuddly and lavender, he has slept with her nightly since Dec 25, 2012. Thank you Amazon! You really have everything we need and your service and delivery are outstanding.

Quality product.

So soft, so cute, so cuddly, and such a lovely lavender shade! It’s hard to stop rubbing it against your face and petting it. I suppose you could actually give it to the child but they might get it dirty and drool on it. It hardly deserves such maltreatment…

This is my son's favorite toy! Super soft and amazing quality. My partner bought him one for Christmas and it quickly became his best friend. We had to buy another because how much it was loved (he takes it literally everywhere). Thank goodness Amazon had it in stock and it shipped so quick! The old one's arm fell off and our son literally can't go a day without it. We will be buying this brand stuffed animals for our friends and kids over and over!

This is the best toy for new babies or little baby girls. I gave this little gem to my daughter at about 6 months. It's so soft I myself like to just squeeze it every once and a while. She didn't pay it much mind until she was about 18 months and now she is almost 2. When I hand it to her she gives it a big squeeze and just holds it for a while. I would recommend the Jellycat brand toys to anyone I know, when they are looking for cute toys.

I ordered this and used regular shipping and received it in no time at all. We are expecting our first baby ( a baby Girl) later next month and i wanted her to have a special present from Daddy. That being said I examined this FULLY before I would give it to my baby. It says it is Newborn approved , It is Super Soft and feels real durable, especially for its intended use lol. The stitching is well done and it does not look as if the eyes and ears will fall off. the only questionable thing i noticed is that instead of stuffing its bottom is full of "beans" of some sort, which could be a problem if it were to somehow rip. This it the only negative I noticed which is why the 4 star rating.
