This item has a two pin plug and is not suitable in Australia. Annoying! Review: Better for you than flossing & kids think it's fun so they do it more - I used a waterpik for years as a kid and I remember thinking it was great then. I had braces and nothing cleared junk out of my teeth/braces better than my waterpik. At some point as I grew older it fell by the wayside and I forgot all about them until our dentist recommended it over flossing. He states that flossing can drag the crud and bacteria deeper into the gums if not done properly (with a new section of floss for each tooth and not going back down after going up). He also states that his patients who use a waterpik have consistently healthier teeth, gums and mouth in general than his hard-core flossers. We bought the adult waterpik for ourselves Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser and this one for our almost 8 year old girl. We all love them! Our daughter is much better about doing her teeth now that she has her waterpik because it's "fun". Plus her teeth/gums end up way cleaner than when she was trying to do floss and brush before. In hindsight, I would buy this unit for myself as well over the adult unit. The reason being is that it is smaller and doesn't take up as much room on the counter. In addition, it doesn't have a lid with a compartment in it for a bunch of useless attachments (as the adult one does). The problem with that lid is it can be a hassle to get on and off because it can pop open. Also, I like the color better. It comes with stickers which, obviously, you don't have to use, so it doesn't look like a kids unit otherwise. The one issue we've had with our daughter is that she has a hard time pressing the water chamber down tight enough on the unit for it to seal. We solved this by keeping a little plastic cup in the bathroom and so she just fills the cup with water then pours it into the water chamber as needed (and this is fun also apparently...) However, I'm guessing that you mean the Waterpik Traveler (WP-300), which is the same size and form factor as the kid's model. As far as I can tell (and I've been researching Waterpik models pretty seriously to find the best replacement for my ancient model that finally died), the main differences between this model (WP-260) and the WP-300 are 1) color (kid's is green, adult's is blue), cost (list prices: $49.00 vs $69.00), and the kid's model comes with stickers whereas the adult's model comes with a travel case. Both have world-wide voltage and a smaller reservoir than other models (15 oz vs 22 oz), and unlike most other models, these two models have only 3 pressure settings instead of 10 and lack a water control button on the hand piece. (IMO the lack of a pause button on the hand piece would be a problem for everyone, but especially for kids.) **Q: What makes the kid version different then the adult version? I want to get one for me and my son (6) but if there is no difference i'd get one.** A: For the kid version:- the machine size is smaller, the handle is bit smaller- has no cover top! So you may need to wash it first before filling it with water- has less choice on the water pressure that can be selected (3 speed vs. 10 speed)- has less 'accessories'- the water cannot be stopped from the handle so the only way to stop the water from flowing is by turning off the machine- you cannot rotate the tip from the handle- has dual voltage- appears a bit flimsyI have tried both and decided to return the kid version because the adult version is so much better for me. **Q: Can this be used by more than one child?** A: Yes it can. You just have to buy another of the Water Pik tips. All you have to do is to take one "tip" out and insert another. I would NOT let two children use the same accessory. China's voltage is 220v can be used directly? Do not need the converter?** A: Even though it does not state it on any of the packaging I received, the 300 model works on 120V-240v without any transformer. It only needs an adapter for the plug configuration. I have used in Europe and The UK on multiple occasions. Before I tried it, did have a lengthy conversation with a rep from Waterpik. The rep had no justification for why this is not advertised as multi-voltage but thought that in the near future it would be included in the product information. Over a year later it still is not in the product info and it appears to be the only multi-voltage device on the market. Its small size makes it ideal for packing/travel.
