It's something you need to build together with a child, not easy enough to build on their own. They toys themselves are not durable and playing with them even briefly will loosen the screws. Just something to keep in mind when thinking of the child you're giving it to. Still recommend!

They do, however it's too difficult for them to do by themselves. The pieces have to be held together at the correct, and sometimes difficult, angle to get the plastic screws in. This is a great toy for young ones who like to tinker and also want or need a bit of a challenge.
