So this is a long story/review. I’ve had a stretch of bad luck with fishing for a while. I’d say a few years probably. Never can catch a thing. So anyways, my ultralight needed a new reel since the old was gummed up and getting crusty. I looked around and talked to some guys and decided on this reel. Ordered it and it arrived quickly thanks to Amazon’s amazing deliveries. I got home late from dinner and drinks with some friends and found it on the porch. Decided I would slap it on since I was going to try some fishing the next day. From the unboxing to install everything went flawlessly. I cheaped out on line and reused the line from my old reel since I had just replaced earlier this year. So I got everything swapped out and buttoned up that night. Next day go to my buddies house and he tells me to try a certain spot on his creek that he’s been having good luck. So I wonder up there. Gonna get the new reel broke in and try it out. It cast beautifully. So smooth. Time to reel it in. I started to crank on it and immediately it felt as if it were snagged on something. My drag was set wayyy too low. So I tried cranking it up a little tighter. Still wouldn’t reel. Left me scratching my head. Then my line took off, and I realized I had a fish on. Initially it felt like a stick or log cause the lure just hit the water and like I mentioned earlier, I have been on a bad luck streak with fish soon never would have thought I actually caught one. So I was hooked into something with this brand new reel, on the very first cast ever. My little ultra light rod was bending over and drag was pulling out of the reel. I fought it for a few minutes and finally got it close enough that my friend could grab it for me before breaking the 2 lb line. He couldn’t believe what I caught in his creek. Almost the biggest small mouth he’d seen come out of there. Sat at about 18-1/2” long. Didn’t have a scale unfortunately so don’t know the weight. I was pumped. First cast on the new reel and I hooked a good one. The reel performed perfectly. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a ultralight reel. Great reel, great price, and fast delivery as always.

Reel is very smooth and light weight. Works great for crappie with 6lb test and have caught bass up to 5 lbs with it
