Works really well
I did a lot of research on different pool robots, and I found this to be the most practical for my type of pool. I have an inground concrete pool (28' x 15') with a gradual slope to the middle (4' deep on each end, 5' in the middle) and a pebble tec surface. We had a pool cleaner with paddles and all it did was leave wheel tracks in the dust and dealing with the hose was annoying. We live in AZ where it is super dusty and stuff flies into the pool from neighborhood trees. I really wanted a cleaner that had a brush on the bottom and great suction that would not get hung up on the floor drains (there are 2 drains that are probably 1"H and 7" diameter) or flip over unexpectedly. It does take 6 hours to charge but I can usually plan when I need it. I had read other reviews where some people charged it half the time and then ran it, I haven't tried that. It runs for about 80 minutes on a full charge. I submerge it in the water while holding onto the rope, then turn it on, and lower it to the bottom. It takes off and does its job. I've used it weekly since March and no complaints. It picks up sand, pebbles, (we just had an acid wash done and didn't realize how many loose pebbles were on the bottom till I ran it) leaves, tree needles, seeds, etc. As for picking up dust, it picks it up but it does get out. Initially, I had some struggles with the right cleaning setting, but I have it to where it does a fantastic job. For my rectangle pool, using the setting of 0 on one end and 20 on the other, the robot was not covering all of the areas. Seems like the reason was because it could roll up the sides slightly and the water would get under it and sweep it in a different direction causing it to go over the same area for like 15 minutes. I changed the setting to what is used for oval pools (20 degrees left on one end and 20 degrees right on the other end) and now it covers all areas. So far, very happy with this and no complaints. I love this thing, worth the money for the convenience that it offers.

Happy Purchase: Pros and Cons
I purchased an Aiper Smart cleaner to clean the bottom of my inground pool. My pool maintainer was brushing the walls and adjusting chemicals. However, leaves and dust were accumulating on the bottom of the pool. I started searching for a traditional hose-connected water pressure powered cleaner. These types of cleaners are priced in the range of several hundred dollars to over $1,000. Therefore, I kept looking for an alternative. During my search process, I noticed the existence of hose-less robot cleaners. This appealed to me because of a lower price range and the no-hose design. I specifically selected the Aiper Smart cleaner largely based on some very positive reviews. Be aware that some video “product reviews” you may find on places like YouTube, etc. are nothing more than feeble attempts by shameless competitors to slam the Aiper product in favor of theirs. After using this product, I wrote this review. Why I purchased this product 1. Reasonable price 2. No-hose design 3. Preponderance of highly favorable customer reviews Pros 1. No-hose design. This means that you won’t have daily problems with a hose getting hung-up or tangled. You also won’t need to maintain a second pressure assist pump in your filtration system. That’s one less thing to worry about when it breaks/fails. 2. Autonomous design. This robot is self-powered with a rechargeable battery. Charge battery, drop in the water, 90-minute clean period, remove from pool, clean collected debris, repeat. 3. It is easy to open the debris collector and clean it with a simple garden hose. 4. The suction capability seems to be quite good. The robot was able to collect all leaves, sticks and other debris of reasonable size. 5. Dust. The robot has a broom (bristles) across its bottom. The combination of the brush and strong suction resulted in exceptional effective cleaning of the dust at the bottom of my pool. 6. Coverage. I have what I would call a mid-size pool in somewhat of an ‘L’ shape. The robot uses a random back-and-forth technique that achieved full coverage of the bottom on both sides of the ‘L’. The steering nozzles (2) can be adjusted to experiment with different patterns to get full coverage in your pool shape. I’m not sure if the robot uses an algorithm to get full coverage, but it sure does get full coverage in my case. Cons/Concerns 1. 6-hour recharge. This seems to be a long time to recharge the battery. However, you can recharge it overnight and won’t care how long it takes. The problem is when you want to get two full passes in one day. You’ll have to wait 6 hours for the charge in between passes. That’s just the way it is. You need to plan around these recharge periods. 2. Battery life. At this point. I have no idea how long the battery will operate until it will no longer take or hold a charge. I plan to use this robot hundreds of times in its life, and I would prefer the battery still work through all those charge cycles. I cannot find a product specification for this. 3. Replacement Parts. There are several parts of the robot I fear may fail over time. I have searched around on the company website and Amazon to see if replacement parts are available to replace failed ones. Nothing found. I prefer directions for replacement parts be prominently posted. Therefore, I have no confidence I will be able to get the parts when I need them. The user guide provides an email address for product support. I hope this will lead me to what I need at that time. I believe the product comes with a two-year warranty. I worry the following parts may fail over time under normal usage: bottom side brush (there are many bristles across this brush. Over time, I expect the bristles to start falling out), 4 wheels (the jets provide for robot locomotion, so the wheels don’t need traction. But I worry that the wheels may crack over time through the cycles of moving into and out of the pool), 2 jet flappers (these appear to be made of rubber or plastic. I worry that time and usage may break them down), top-side rope to pull the robot out of the water (This small rope feels like it may break over time after pulling the robot out of the water many times), swing pate ( I fear that this plastic plate sticks out such that one may accidently break it while moving the robot around) battery ( as stated earlier, I don’t know if the battery life may be limited and no longer be able to hold a charge at some point, rendering the robot useless). I am not confident I can get replacement parts for these if I need them. 4. Fragility. I am quite sure the robot would not survive undamaged from a drop at waist height or higher onto a hard ground like my cement pool patio. I expect lots of cracked body and wheel damage if this were to occur, unfortunately. 5. No walls. This robot will not clean vertical walls. I find this OK. The robot keeps the bottom so clean, all I have to do is brush the walls as an easy chore once a week. Overall I have been using my Aiper Smart Pool Cleaner for a full week now. I am very happy with my purchase and am very impressed with the cleaning results. I have discovered some concerns and limitations as enumerated above. For months, I have been struggling with dust, leaves and acorns at the bottom of my pool while relying on an incompetent pool maintainer. Now, my efforts have been reduced to keeping the robot running and lightly brushing the sides of the pool. The pool looks spectacular now with beautiful clear water is satisfyingly sowing off the blue colors of the pool. I spend hours staring at it. Overall, I recommend this product as per my experience above. By the way, I named the robot after my previous pool maintainer (Eduardo Jr.). Support Update: After checking Amazon one more time, I did find a path to product support: Go to your order on Amazon, Select “Get product support” in the yellow button, select “Get product support” in the yellow button again on the new page. You will be presented with options to call or chat with Amazon to get support. This should lead you to what you need.

Worked great for a while/customer service aweful
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!! I purchased this unit last yr in June. It worked great for the season, but when I tried to use this season it did not work correctly/weak suction. I contacted the company several times through Amazon with no reply. I then contacted them through their website. The only way I have been able to communicate with them is through email. I finally after several attempts got them to send me return label to send mine in for warranty and they were sending me a refurbished unit. I finally received the refurbished unit but it was nothing but the shell/no motor or charger. It took several more attempts to get a reply regarding the motor missing. They responded stating they would send the missing parts so I could put it together, LOL. I still have not received the missing parts. This has been going on since the first of May 2023. Update 7/12/23 I have been fighting with this company for 2 months now and still getting the run around. I have been told they do not have a motor in their warehouse to send me. They said they would send me another refurbished unit. Contacted them again today because I still haven't received anything. I am now being told that they are out of the unit they were going to send me, but they will check into sending me the upgraded Seagull SE. I have no confidence in this company at all. I have just lost over $300.00. AMAZON needs to do something about this company but I am sure that is not going to happen.

So far, so good!
We used well water to fill our new above ground pool. We've had some issues so we got this little vac to make life easier. It is very easy to use. It does its job. The battery actually lasts about two hours. My only problem is getting it out is a bit tricky, not hard, but when "Scooby" (my nickname for it) is done scooping, he's full of water and I just wish he had a grab bar to get him to a step to lift him out. Minor complaint. (I very rarely give 5 stars. I would give this 4 1/2 so far). If by the end of summer all is still this happy, I will give that extra star. UPDATE: Oh dear, during a thunderstorm the power cord/adapter blew out. For the life of me, I CAN'T FIND A REPLACEMENT!! The Aiper website is no help what so ever. SECOND UPDATE: Aiper sent a replacement cord, which was what I needed. I'm making sure to unplug the cord when not in use and will not have it plugged in during thunderstorms. Hopefully they will have replacement cords available through Amazon soon. The unit is back at work cleaning all the little things that fall to the bottom of the pool. Fingers crossed this cord will hold up.

Love it
Mine is 4 years old and still works great. Since it is discontinued I had to get replacement brushes off of eBay from a used unit. I bought the Aiper s2 skimmer today and when I upgrade the vacuum, I will get another Aiper. I have an above ground Doughboy with a vinyl liner. The Aiper robot has been gentle cleaning the bottom of the pool. It was a great value for what it does and the fact that it is four years old and still working makes me very happy.

OK pool cleaner with some limitations
I bought this because I was -- well, being lazy and was hoping it would take the place of the traditional pole vacuum with hose. Am on my second year with this unit, cleaning a 12' x 24' above-ground pool. So the good: - charge does last for quite a long time. I did not time it to the minute, but it was well over an hour, and very close to 90 minutes. - picks up a lot of stuff; - easy to put into the pool; - easy to charge, although the cord could be a lot longer; - fairly simple to take a part, clean, and put back together. The so-so: - it does not pick up a lot of fine material; - if the battery dies mid-pool, you may not be able to reach the rope if your pool is larger; - does not have a memory, so it sometimes misses spots; - occasionally gets stuck at one end (but on the positive side it cleans the hell out of that end); - takes a couple of hours to recharge (but not unusual for battery devices). The bad: - it is heavy when pulling out of the pool because it is full of water; - sometimes the stuff that it picked up washes back into the pool when pulling it out; - it does not remove tough algae; - it sometimes gets stuck by the ladder. What I have found is that this unit won't take the place of a stick vacuum or an equivalent robotic unit with a rotating scrub brush. However, it is great for in-between quick cleanings to keep most of the stuff off the bottom. I would give it a "4" if it had a pattern memory to clean the entire pool bottom. It was worth the price because it has reduced the number of weekly cleans with the stick vacuum.

UPDATED FROM ONE TO FIVE STAR REVIEW—CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT!
Updated Review: After I completed my one-star review, I requested that Amazon refund my money. Amazon did and sent someone from UPS with a label to get the first vacuum. I called Aiper customer service as well. Iris, from the Aiper Customer Experience Team read my negative review on Amazon and reached out via email. She offered a brand new one—free of charge! It came and it worked more than once, beautifully—I uploaded a new video. I suggest you buy this. It is hassle-free and does a great job of cleaning my 30-foot, round pool. If yours stops working, for any reason, contact Aiper and ask for a return and refund via Amazon right away! On a side note, Iris was kind enough to send accessories like a large skimming net with a brush, another smaller net and brush, and a floating, chlorine tablet holder. I definitely am impressed with their speedy customer service to make this right, so I changed my review to five stars. I recommend you definitely buy this if you’re on the fence! Previous Review: It worked well one time. Then it would not charge or turn back on—just blue light blinking fast on unit (see video). I just reached out to the company, and I was told I will be receiving an email with some type of correspondence in order to get a replacement. I asked the customer service rep. if this occurs often—meaning it only works once and then will not work again, and she said, “Yes. That’s why we will send you a brand new one.” I will update my review if I get a brand new one and if that one works continuously. *Update: I called the company, and the rep. said she’d email me the information needed in order to get a new one. I never received the email, so I just asked for a refund from Amazon. I had to return the unit in the original packaging, and UPS had a label and picked it up.

Revised-customer service went above & beyond!Went from Great to Meh in a month
Update: I was (surprisingly) contacted via email by customer service after my initial review. They were SO HELPFUL in remedying the situation with my initial item. They sent a replacement & it was a newer/bigger unit than I initially purchased. So far, it is a great item! Customer service can be a lost art but AIPER can teach the class on it because they were communicative, prompt & focused on remedying the situation. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to order from them again. This little guy was going to replace our 10 year old $1000 pool vacuum for our 15,000 galling in-ground pool. Right out of the box, it was fairly easy to use-straightforward, easy charging, simple assembly (if you even call it that). It was impressive for about a week. Now, it won’t run longer than 10 min (after charging for 24 hours), it barely “vacuums” & mostly just blows stuff around. It challenging to remove from the pool bc you have to pull it by the “leash” (rope with handle) and lift it fairly straight out of the pool. It’s heavier than when it goes in because it’s filled with water, but also filled with whatever it may have picked up from the bottom (which sadly, isn’t much). If you tip it at all while removing it, the water/debris will go right back into your pool. Also, for some unknown reason, the knob to turn from off to on is incredibly hard to turn all of a sudden. One day my husband couldn’t even turn it. It feels like it has sand or something under it that is inhibiting it turning. Overall, I’ll give this 2 out of 5 but it truly is a disappointing item & I wish that wasn’t the case.

Great help! Difficulty with incline
This machine does exactly what is says it does The suction is great but if you have a lot of dirt you might need to run it twice to catch everything Because if it’s shape it can not go into corners (but I think this is obvious) Also because of the incline in my pool sometime the robot has hard time coming back into the shallow after being in the deep end ESPECIALLY if it is not fully charged I do not have experience with the cheaper models but I am happy with this robot
