The CURT 45405 Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter Reducer Sleeve converts a 2.5-inch receiver to accept a 2-inch shank, crafted with CNC precision and finished in a corrosion-resistant carbide black powder coat. Lightweight yet durable, it ensures seamless compatibility with industry-standard hitches while resisting rust, UV, and wear for reliable towing performance.

## Description

CURT hitch adapters can be used for many different purposes when hitching up a trailer. Whether a ball mount shank is too small or too large to fit into a receiver tube, a CURT adapter can make up the difference. Our adapters are built with exceptional strength and designed to be precisely fitted for their application. We carry trailer hitch adapters to accommodate both receiver tube openings and shanks of 1-1/4", 2" and 2-1/2" dimensions. CURT adapters also come in various lengths to allow more clearance for a cargo carrier, bike rake or spare tire. This CURT reducer sleeve adapter converts a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" receiver tube opening to a 2" x 2" opening. It installs easily and is compatible with virtually any 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" hitch. Its gross trailer weight capacity and tongue weight capacity are limited to the hitch. All CURT adapters are constructed using our quality manufacturing processes. We CNC-form each unit, weld it together using advanced robotic systems and then mechanically descale every surface to make each adapter smooth to accept a finishing coat. To finish off this adapter, we give it a durable black carbide powder coat finish to ensure it has excellent rust, chip and UV resistance.

Review: Solid quality, works just as intended. - I don't know why some folks complain about this adapter sleeve. Obviously hitches may vary in tolerances among different manufacturers and this sleeve will not fit exactly the way they want it to with every single application. I'm using this on my Ford Super Duty. With the holes lined up it sticks out about an inch past the end of the receiver tube, and there is a very small amount of wiggling, but I ain't mad about it. And I appreciate the two ears that prevent it from sliding too far into the tube. Another quality product from CURT Manufacturing.

I don't know why some folks complain about this adapter sleeve. Obviously hitches may vary in tolerances among different manufacturers and this sleeve will not fit exactly the way they want it to with every single application. I'm using this on my Ford Super Duty. With the holes lined up it sticks out about an inch past the end of the receiver tube, and there is a very small amount of wiggling, but I ain't mad about it. And I appreciate the two ears that prevent it from sliding too far into the tube. Another quality product from CURT Manufacturing.

Great quality, have used this all year for pulling out RV with my f350 (2.5” receiver to our 2” weigh safe hitch we had for our previous truck). Have drove 12 hours 1 way, no cracking/wear or issues. For price you can’t beat it, do not buy a Chinese knock off for hauling. Purchase peace of mind especially for this price.
