## Description

SkyMaster Pro binoculars are the ideal choice for amateur astronomers or anyone that observes at great distances. SkyMaster Pro uses superior optics, coatings, internal parts, and housing materials compared to lower-priced, large-aperture binoculars. With large objective lenses, BaK-4 prisms, and fully multi-coated optics utilizing Celestron's proprietary XLT coating technology, the view through a SkyMaster Pro is second to none at this price point. The 80mm objective lenses have tremendous light-gathering capabilities, delivering superior low-light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. Every air-to-glass surface is multi-coated with Celestron's proprietary XLT coating technology. These coatings and BaK-4 prisms increase light transmission through the optical path and deliver crisp, high-contrast images with excellent resolution. The SkyMaster Pro 20x80 mm's built-in tripod adapter allows the binocular to be attached to a tripod for added stability during longer viewing sessions and also allows a red-dot finder to be attached to it utilizing the included RSR “Reflex Sight Ready” Rail. Simply align your reflex sight with the binocular, and you can locate objects in seconds with the red-dot finderscope. The polycarbonate and aluminum housing allows the binocular to be lighter weight without sacrificing its durability. The protective rubber armor is extremely rugged and durable and can handle demanding use. The fully waterproof housing for all weather conditions provides peace of mind when unexpected weather occurs. The housing is also filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent the internal lenses from fogging when moving between extreme temperatures or using the binocular in damp conditions. Bring distant objects into view with 20x magnification—great for observing celestial objects in greater detail, searching for wildlife in the brush, or viewing a distant object on the horizon.

Review: Good set of binoculars for astronomy, that can easily rival a lot of beginner level telescopes! - These are very nice quality binoculars and do the job exceptionally well. For good example, I was able to find Jupiter and 4 of its moons. They were crisp just about to the point where I could make out the separate bands on Jupiter, even despite the bright super moon being quite close to it. The build quality is excellent with a sturdy focusing wheel, allowing for easy tac-sharp focusing. I'd say this is a must have item for an aspiring amateur astronomer like myself. I also can appreciate the good quality of the carrying case and accessories.
Review: EXTREMELY Pleased with my decision on this purchase. - YOU WILL NEED A STUDY TRIPOD for these binos. There's an east view from my deck that allows me to view the Moon rise, Venus, Orion, Saturn and a host of other players. I don't know if it's the Central Texas air that makes that Moon rise look like a HUGE china plate in the sky but I wanted for AGES to see it closer. What took me so long. When I do graduate to a telescope, I will keep these bino's for Texas travel to various canyons and cliffs. DO READ the manual - familiarize yourself with all the knobs. Don't cheat yourself of the experience and use the levels. The easy in / out of the tripod adapter is a thing of beauty. DO NOT let go of the bino's until you are VERY confident that everything is secure - your heart will drop if something that's not supposed to move - MOVES. I am very pleased with the tripod securing the bino's - not a wobbly one. It's the desertcart Basics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod With Bag, Black. I'm 5' 7" and used nearly all of the height... then again maybe you pull out your best comfy lawn chair and sit. There's a middle pole that unwinds upward with a little handle for additional lift. This middle pole also has a locking nut. Do the left eye focus first with the middle focus ring as the right eye has a separate focus only - as stated in the MANUAL.* * * UPDATE * * * 10/15/2023 I had people fly in from Chicago for the eclipse. At night we used these bino's to view the stars. The first time you see the four moons of Jupiter - your jaw drops and you want to show everybody. You view satellites flying overhead that you cannot view with the naked eye. It is breath taking. I will be purchasing bino solar filters to take these as far as they can go.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is the difference between the 20 x 80 Celestron binoculars and the 20 x 80 "Pro" binoculars?**
A: saw an interview where the product manager said the prisms are bigger in the Pro. Saw a comment that the prism of the regular, non-pro only handles about 63mm of the objective lens throughput. So Pro much brighter than the standard. Also pro has twist-up eyecups.

Downside of Pro is only 15.5mm eye releif vs. 18mm with the standard 20x80. Another downside is the field of view is reduced to 155' compared to 195 ft. at 1000 yards. As a glasses wearer, 15.5 is not long enough.

**Q: Why are there no pockets on the carrying case? No place to put the extra eyecups, lens cloth, or red dot rail!**
A: I often wonder why not all dresses have pockets either. Probably the same reason airlines stopped serving meals.

**Q: I'd like to make sure i'll be able to look at the sun before i buy these binos. any tailor-made sun filters for this model? if not,any suggestions?tks**
A: You’ll have to search for any purpose made filters. Lacking those, if you have a solar filter for a telescope, mine for an 8” Celestron C8, you can create a homemade mount to hold that filter in front if the binos.

**Q: Can we zoom?**
A: No

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent, but
*by A***X on July 31, 2021*

It's ok, I managed to see Jupiter moons with it and lots of stars invisible to unaided eye. Moon is also gorgeous, lots of details to peruse. You'd need a tripod to make full use of it, with 20x magnification it's very shaky. However the image quality is slightly less than I expected. Some color aberrations and distortions, especially at the edges, though seems to be ok at the center. Maybe I'm just expecting too much for this price.
