Life saver for my broken big toe!
I have been wearing this for 3 weeks, since I broke my big toe. This boot has been a life saver. I could hardly walk at all until I had this, and as soon as it arrived I put it on and it was a night and day difference. It stabilized my foot / toe so walking wasn't painful. It comes with long velcro straps that you can easily trim to the right size. So it would work if you had a large cast, or if you have small narrow feet like me and no cast. It's super easy to take on and off, or adjust the tightness if you need more or less support in the moment. I got a medium and wear a women's size 8. If I had it to do over again I would get 2, one for inside and one for outside use. It's well worth the price to help heal a broken toe. I tried buddy wrapping my toe to the toe next to it, and while I think that was of some use...this was far better at stabilizing it.

Sizing was on target.
This foot brace worked great. I ordered within the range of my foot size and I had a bit of toe room to spare which gave me more protection for my big toe . The brace is solid, light feeling on the foot and easy to wear--actually comfortable. The velcro is strong. No checking needed for slippage. It held well.

Better than the doctorโs office version
I found out last week that I have a stress fracture in my left foot, and the doctor gave me a different version of this kind of shoe/brace. I ordered this one because I wanted a clean one for inside the house and one for when I go out. I actually like this one much better than the one the doctorโs office gave me because it has a slight rocker bottom as opposed to the other one, which has a completely flat bottom. This Amazon one is also a bit shorter which is perfect because it extends about 1/2 inch past my toes as opposed to about an inch on the other one, which makes walking even more awkward. The Amazon one is also a lot lighter. Much better and more comfortable to wear all around while still keeping my toes stable and as still as possible. The velcro also seems very strong and durable, but hopefully I wonโt have to wear this for very long. For reference, I wear a womenโs size 7.5 shoe and ordered this in a womenโs medium which is perfect.

Excellent Product - Sizing Tricky for Women with Larger Feet
This is sturdy and VERY easy to get foot in and out of. The hard plastic surround is very well made, the inner foam is dense enough to support but soft enough to "give". I would 100% recommend this product. Only issue I had was sizing. I wear a woman's size 10.5 in normal shoes. The Women's Large (8.5-10.5) for this shoe/boot had my toe at the very edge of the shoe/boot. There was not enough room to make my injured foot to feel like it was protected enough. So I ordered a Men's Large (9.5-11) and it works very well. Have worn it for a few months now and it is not broken down. Impressive.

Game changer
This is the third surgical shoe I tried and while there are parts of it that I'm not fond of, the pros so out weigh the cons because it is miles above other shoes. The key feature is that, unlike other ones that claim it, this one actually has a rocker bottom. You don't notice the difference as much when you're taking a few steps here or there, but if you actually want to walk in it the ability to roll from heel through the foot to the toe makes you actually able to have a real gait. No it won't be as if you were wearing two regular shoes but the pace and lack of wobbling (from uneven legs and one not moving as the other) is such an improvement that people don't tend to notice I have the shoe on. Other shoes that claim to have rocker bottoms genuinely did not, or at least not nearly to this degree. Now the bottom is all hard plastic which makes it a little slippery and scratchy on some surfaces, though I have not slipped at all. Also heaven forbid you get a little bit of dust or gravel on your shoe and you are making scratchy sounds everywhere you go. I bought two of these because I wasn't sure which size and the one was deformed on the sole of the shoe. It's supposed to be completely flat but it had a large bump in it that would render it completely unusable to anyone recovering from a foot injury. I'll assume that was a one-off and didn't remove any stars because of it. It's worth noting it is slightly cushier than other shoes but still firm. Also, because it has a genuine rocker bottom, it is a little taller than other shoes. However it's still not tall enough that I can use the evenup on my other foot even on the lowest setting. I do notice the height difference, but whereas with the other shoes I started getting hip pain in my good leg, with this one, because I can roll off the foot so smoothly, there isn't as much jostling or downward motion onto my good leg so I don't get nearly as much hip pain even though the height difference is slightly greater. The sizing surprised me, I wear a women's size 8, 8 and 1/2 if I need extra width, and my toe goes to the very end of the women's medium. I should be wearing the large, but that's the one that came with a deformity so I went with the medium because my injury is not to my big toe so I did not think there was too much risk. Every other shoe I've tried on I've been a size medium or even small with plenty of room to spare, so these definitely do size smaller than others but per the size chart. But if you're close to the top of the range or in between sizes, definitely size up.

Pros and cons vs a boot
**EDIT** after wearing for a few days I can say the shoe is not as good as the boot. It does not provide the stability of the boot, the velcro piece falls off and the the straps overhang the shoe making it a fall hazard. Iโve worn them for 5 min after wearing a boot for 10 days. Here are my thoughts. Pros. -Much less bulky, feel *almost* like my foot is in normal shoes. A sense of freedom for my foot if you will. - quicker to get out of - less noticeable -somewhat comparable support. Iโd give the boot a little leg up (ha unintended pun there) but not too much Cons -not sure about the quality. They donโt seem like they are going to last very long. They came looking a little eh and after 5 min are looking even more ehhhhh - the reverse side of the Velcro is not attached. Yeah. So if you lose that the shoe is worthless. Why they didnโt sew it on is beyond me. Itโs like this on each of the straps. - under the straps, the flap that actually does the supporting of your foot, doesnโt have velcro on it at all. This means you have to hold it closed to the desired tightness with one hand while trying to velcro the straps to their desired tightness with your other hand. If youโre coordinated thatโs fine. If you are like me and have 2 dogs in your face, trip over air, get lost in a circle and were always picked last for kickball this is an issue. Pics included. Good luck and feel better soon
