I rarely write reviews, but the Matilor Dog Harness and Matching Leash Set deserves every one of these five stars! From the moment I took it out of the package, the super high quality was evident. The material is durable yet comfortable for my little guy, and the stitching is flawless. What truly sets this set apart is the locking mechanism on the harness clasp. This feature gives me incredible peace of mind, especially when walking my spirited 15-pound chihuahua, Sniper, around busy streets. I know he’s secure and there’s zero chance of an accidental unclip. The design is excellent, too—it's stylish and functional, distributing pressure evenly across his chest rather than his throat. The matching leash is the perfect length and has a comfortable handle. If you’re on the fence, jump over it! This is a fantastic investment in your dog’s safety and comfort. I would recommend this very highly! Sniper's Great Harness Escape (Attempt) My little 15-pound chihuahua, Sniper, has always had a complicated relationship with authority, specifically in the form of things that go around him. For years, we dealt with the "Houdini Harness Hurl," where he'd somehow manage to shimmy out of his old harness the moment he spotted a particularly interesting leaf. When the new Matilor harness arrived, I was confident its superior locking mechanism would finally end his escape-artist career. I put it on him, adjusted the straps, and locked the clasp with a satisfying click. Sniper immediately froze, his tiny legs splayed like a startled fawn, his expression a pure, unadulterated declaration of war. He spent the next two days walking with the stiff-legged gait of a robot that's just realized it's wearing pants, occasionally backing up and rubbing his shoulders vigorously against the couch corners as if trying to sand the harness off. On our third walk, the moment we hit the grass, he executed his signature move: a lightning-fast, full-body contortion, twisting and wriggling like a tiny, furry croissant trying to unroll. He pulled, he squirmed, he even let out a dramatic, wheezing sneeze of exertion. He paused, looked down, and the terrible truth dawned on him: the harness was still on. His reaction wasn't what I expected. Instead of panic, a profound, world-weary sigh escaped his chest. He looked up at me with eyes that said, 'Fine, Father. You've won this round. But know this: I am already thinking of new ways to embarrass you in public.' He proceeded to strut the rest of the walk like a tiny, defeated champion, carrying the weight of his un-escaped harness and the shattered remains of his dignity. Now, he just accepts it, though he still gives the harness a suspicious side-eye every morning, as if waiting for it to apologize.

DESIGN- - I have a bitty little puppy who is 3 lbs and the XS was almost too big for him, but there is a lot of velcro real-estate to account for variance in size so I was able to make it work. Also, it will be perfect size for him even as an adult which is great - I love the color and pattern, very pretty IRL. - The design of the harness gives me a lot of control without putting any pressure on his neck, which was super important for me with such a small dog. I have had to pull him back quite hard on occasion from eating something that would harm him, or getting stepped on, and am able to do that without causing any pain or injury to him, which is exactly what I needed. I love the top clip in addition to the velcro, makes it really sturdy. - He loves to chew and has tried chewing on the harness quite often when it's off him, or when taking it on or off, but it hasn't come apart at all, so the quality seems really solid. COMFORT - - He's a pom/pap and I was super worried about the velcro sticking to his fur but it never pulls or catches on his coat, even when I have to put it on quickly since he is squirmy. - It's been in the 90s every day since I got this and it doesn't seem to make him any more hot, it's very breathable and lightweight but still sturdy. - He also will sleep with this on during the day and it doesn't affect his sleep so it seems like it's comfortable on him. Once it's on he doesn't seem to notice it much. Very happy with the purchase overall esp for the price, a great little harness. --I unfortunately lost the leash after the first day, so can't speak too much on that, but it seemed really solid and had no issues with it. I can use the harness with any leash though, which is nice.

I this style step-in harness! Prior to using Malitor harnesses, I purchased the brand Voyager, and used that brand for years but the velcro wouldn't last long so I started looking for alternatives. I have purchased a handful of harnesses, rope leashs and hated every one; I couldn't find a quality harness & rope leash. Most of the rope leashes were extremely thin BUT these Matilor's harnesses and leashes are everything you would want! The harness itself is well made — great craftsmanship! The material is thick and durable, the velcro is insanely strong. The snap buckle has a red button for locking into place. One day I couldn't figure out how come I couldn't open the snap then I realized it has a lock tab (push left/right to lock/unlock). I don't use it but it's a nice added feature. Matilor offers a great variety of prints and color choices along with sizes to fit almost every size dog. The leash rope is strong and durable. I will NEVER use any other style leash again. Compared to other leash ropes I've owned, the ropes thickness is just pawwfect! Not too thin or thick. I love the soft ergonomic handles with hooks. I have bad neuropathy in my hands, so the rope and handle are very comfortable for someone like myself. CLEANING: I'll spray th harness & rope with Dawn and toss in the washing machine every month, and they wash beautifully. I'll keep the velcro closed while washing to so lint builds up on the velcro. • Easy to put on and take off in seconds (I leave the leash attached to the harness) My 86 year old grandparents watched my fur-babies and the harness was very easy for them to put on and take off; my neighbors 7 year old babysat my girls while I was away, and he was also able to put these on and take off by himself with no issues! True to size! I have a 15lb Maltipoo & Havapoo and ordered a Med. Depending on the length of your dog's hair - you have to take that into consideration when sizing. Also, your dog's weight and their build are a factor when sizing. I'll read poor reviews about the harness not being true to size and then see photos of a petite, overweight or stocky built size dog or one with thick long hair/coat and any of those has a factor when it comes to sizing. Just like people, we can be short/avg/tall but our weight and builds are all different. I'm sure what I'm trying to say isn't being translated properly but if you get it, then great! You and I could have medium size dogs but their weight and build can be very different making sizing different! Some reviews I just shake my head as they should be common sense. In the winter, I'll let my girls hair grow out and the harnesses are a little more snug vs when they have a short summer cut. Hair length in my option does have a factor when sizing. Overall, I couldn't be more satisfied with the product and purchase! Matilor Customer Service is exceptional! They truly care about customer satisfaction and selling quality products! This harness is a very easy well fitting harness. I have had 3 different sizes as my dog has grown. I passed on the 2 that no longer fit to my friends with dogs and they are equally pleased. I highly recommend this product.
