More practical than the Nest Cam
Summary: After using this and the Nest Cam, I chose the Yi.I purchased a Nest Cam on Cyber Monday or sometime around there when they were running a promotion for $30 off ($169). I thought that it was a great deal because I have heard great things about it. When I got it home, it was extremely easy to set up, and the quality was spectacular (1080p). It had "great" features such as setting up a box to watch for motion and everything, and a great web based viewer. But, then I quickly realized that I was just in a trial, and basically, could no longer record video after the trial expired, and basically, it would just turn into a live web cam.Once I realized that Nest wanted me to spend an extra $10/month (per camera) to get any of the features that were important to me on top of the base price, I started searching out alternatives. Fortunately, the Yi US edition came out right about that time, and I saw an Amazon exclusive on it. I went ahead and took a chance on it being good enough (because of the reputation of the company that makes it) and bought two of these and a 32GB SD card for each. The specs of this camera are not anywhere near the specs of the Nest Cam, but, I am going to compare the two because that is most likely what the majority of you will be doing, and, it is what I have used. I will break this down by feature so that you can make a fairly informed decision on which one will suit your needs.Cloud Storage: Winner - Nest CamWhen it comes to cloud storage, the Nest Cam wins here (Not even a *real* option for the Yi). From what I have read, the Yi will store up to 6 seconds of video on the cloud. I don't see that being enough time for the case of someone breaking into your house and stealing the camera as well. With the Nest Cam, although you will pay a price for the storage, if you are concerned about security and want to have video evidence of people robbing your place, then, you will probably want to go with the Nest Cam until Yi offers better options (like storing on Dropbox or paying a fee or something).Local Storage: Winner - YiThis is the complete opposite of the Cloud Storage section. Nest Cam doesn't offer it, but, Yi does. You have the option of recording everything, or just events. While the Yi can only use 32GB max, it seems to work well.Price: Winner - Yi$199 (Nest Cam) vs $60 (Yi), price is an easy one. Add on top of that no storage fees beyond a one time investment of ~$10 for the SD card, the savings are even greater.Video Quality: Winner - Nest CamThis is an easy one again, 1080p vs 720p. Beyond just resolution, the field of view is also better on the Nest Cam. Both cameras were side by side, and the Nest Cam probably saw about 4-5 feet more on each side.Mobile App (iOS specifically): Winner - TieThe Yi app is pretty impressive. I was expecting it to be much less polished than the Nest Cam's app, but, they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. The only weakness that I see with the Yi app is that it has less settings than the Nest Cam.Web App: Winner - Nest CamThe Yi doesn't have a web app, while the Nest Cam does. If this is important to you, go with the Nest Cam.Misc:- Both cameras have extremely easy setup. They Yi has you hold your phone up to the camera so it can scan a barcode on your phone, where the Nest Cam has you scan the barcode on the back of the camera with your phone.- Both cameras have a status light on the front. the Nest Cam has a green light, while the Yi has a Blue light. Both can be turned off via the app (we turn the one in the nursery off.) We liked the look of the green light better on the Nest Cam, but, it isn't a deal breaker. One thing that my wife really appreciated on the Nest Cam was that the light would flash when someone was watching the camera. It would be a great feature for Yi to add, but, again, not a deal breaker.- Both cameras have a microphone and speaker for two way talk. The Nest Cam has a lot better audio quality. Also, the Nest Cam allows you to disable the announcement when someone talks from the app to the camera.- Both cameras allow you to mount on the wall, although, it wasn't as obvious on the Yi (unscrew the bottom)- The Nest Cam has more accessories (because it has been around longer), like, outdoor mounting. They *may* work with the Yi.- The Nest Cam will only alert you every 30 minutes of motion, where as the Yi does every 10 minutes. It would be nice if it were configurable. *Update January 16, 2016* Yi updated the app and the firmware on the camera to nag you less, in the form of Alert Frequency low, medium, and high. Not sure the times of each, but, I'm SUPER happy to see that they are making improvements!- The Nest Cam will alert you on sound as well as motion, but, the Yi only does motion.- *Update January 16, 2016* Yi now allows you to set an activity region just like the Nest does if you subscribe to the cloud. This is MUCH better than the nest though, because you can even set the region on the phone (Nest required you to set it using a computer).- *Update January 16, 2016* Yi has always allowed you to set a PIN to protect the video steam, and now the iOS app allows you to use Touch ID, which is nice.- *Update January 16, 2016* Yi now allows you to share a camera with another account. This is nice if you want to share a camera with a babysitter or if you want to have a separate account than your spouse.Overall, I would say that the Nest Cam is slightly "better", but, I would happily take 3 Yi's over 1 Nest Cam any day!

Best Alternative for the Nest Cam! Look No Further, One of the Best Cams for an Amazing Price! All the Features You Need...
Pros:720p HD (not the best, but great for the price!2 Way AudioNigh Vision (clear!)Option to Send Alerts of Detected Activity (Settings to change it available)It looks just like the DropCam!Clean, Modern LookLightweightEasy to InstallAllows you to keep videos of to 7 DaysOption to Record Live Videos and Screenshot the live camAmazing Price!Cons:App takes a while to load and view live camDetailed Review:I am absolutely in love with this camera! I have searched long and hard for a camera that has all the features we needed, but at an affordable price! I was considering the Nest Cam (previously DropCam), however I was very reluctant due to the $200 price. I loved the features, but the price was not worth it to me. I looked almost everywhere in best buy and Amazon for a home camera, but it was either lacking in the features or didn't live up to what it was supposedly made to do. Then, I stumbled upon the Yi Home Camera (US edition), it had everything I needed such as 2 way audio, night vision, and the happy customers that purchased it! And the price of this is AMAZING! It is truly everything I wanted in a camera. If you are looking into the Nest Camera, but is hesitant of the price -this is the next best thing! For the price of one, you can buy 4! Check out my photos to see the packaging and camera itself...The Box:The Yi home camera I purchased included camera, Micro USB to USB cord, plug, 32gb Micro SD, Instructions, Limited Warranty, Box.Setting It Up: Setting it up was easy. Plug it in (it talks!), Add the micro SD on the back (if applicable), Download the app, Make an account through email or Facebook, Top right corner of the app has the "+" button to add a camera, Connect to Wifi, Scan QR Code, and Add Camera. You're all good to go! You can also add more cameras if needed. As of this moment, you can only view the camera through the app. I had no issues with that since I wanted to use it as a dog cam. However, I also want to get one for my front door. The Camera: 720p HD, 111 Degrees Wide Angle View, 2 Way Audio, Infrared Night Vision. The camera and its white "stand" are together already. Although you can separate it with screws (as I will be considering when I buy another for my front door so that it doesn't look so revealing). I purchased the white color and love it for my all white decor home, lol! Right now, I am using it as a dog cam for my new puppy. The camera itself seems like a very good quality. It is lightweight, clean modern looking, and simple to use. You have the micro SD slot at the back and the small reset button (you may need a bobby pin or earring to reset just like if you were to open the sim card slot of an iPhone). The cord itself is pretty long. Once you plug it in, it automatically turned on by itself. There are status light to see if its trying to connect to wifi, and flashing blue light when it is connected to wifi. The stand itself is great for trying to get the perfect view, it goes up and down for the angle you would like and stays there. The 2 way audio works great! Night vision if actually really clear considering the price. You can place it on any shelf, table, ect. I did want to mount it on my wall however. For mounting it to my wall, I used the 3M Command Strips (up to 5 lbs). It is working for me and have had no issues with it.The App:Homepage: Top menu includes left icon for "Your Account" (Account Setting, Scan QR code to view friend's cam, Album [of your video/screenshot], FAQ & Feedback, About) and right icon to "Add a Camera" . Bottom Menu includes left icon for your "Cameras", middle icon for your "Alerts" (videos that has movement), and Album (Recorded live videos/screenshot). The homepage automatically shows your camera. When you click on it, it shows the camera on live mode (you can move the view by moving your phone side to side, swiping the cam side to side). Viewing options are available in SD (Standard View), HD (High Definition), or Auto. Top area gives you the options to share (Invites and sharing QR Code) and the camera settings (Camera Name, Settings of Status Light, Image Rotation, Night Vision option, Time Zone, and Current Version of app). Below the live cam, it gives you the speaker icon to allow sound, video icon to record the live cam, microphone option to "talk", camera icon to screenshot the live cam, and arrow icons to view it in full screen. Below it, are the videos that were automatically recorded due to activity being detected.Overall:I would buy this again and soon for my front door area. My only issues were with the app or how the cam and app loads for me to view it live. It does take a while to load, there were a few issues with it telling me about my wifi connection. I just kept on refreshing it, and it worked. I'm sure and hope that they can work on getting it to load quicker. However, no big issues so far. I am happy with my purchase and will recommend it. It has all the features I was looking for!

Descripción engañosa del producto
Te dicen que te mandan la serie 2 de 1080p y me mandaron dos veces la tipo 1. Descripción engañosa (y por el precio) debería ser la tipo dos. Muy decepcionado.

No funciona
