Based on the specification for an IRLB8721PBF, they should be fully fit-for-purpose for controlling via 3.3v logic, however my experience of these has proved otherwise (all of them in the pack were tested). I have purchased the "same" component from Farnell, and it performs as expected - enabling my LED strip lights fully controllable via Arduino 3.3v logic. I would claim that these items are not performing as specified or advertised, and I would suggest buyer beware if your use case is 3.3v related. Review: Does not conform to spec - I found these have a break down voltage between 12-15V, not the 30v stated on the data sheet.
