Excellent product
It’s super easy and convenient. I had concerns about soft curd building around the cage, but all you need to do is stir/shake the container with the grains a couple of times during the process. This helps improve access of milk to the grains. I also contacted the manufacturer to get advice on cleaning the container. In short, Kefir grains don't allow other microbes to live in their environment, so it is good to rinse with tap water. I started getting high quality Kefir on the third batch after reactivating the grains.

Kefir making just got easier!
Pros: kefir grains are contained in the cylindrical cage and the top has a vented cap(no more papertowel and rubber band to cover your jar) you open that fits onto a small mouth Mason jar. You can unscrew the cap once you've made your kefir and place it (with attached cage and the enclosed kefir grains)right into the next jar and just add milk for your next batch. You can place this jar with grains and the made kefir into the fridge if your not ready to make more yet. Mine has consistently made great kefir with a TBSP of active grains in 12 to 16 hours every time. Cons: The grains will be surrounded in the cage by dense thick kefir (like sour cream consistency) that builds upward but doesn't seem to hinder the kefir production. I pour the milk into the cage and give the jar some agitation and break it up a bit but after a week I pour the grains out of the cage and give it a cleaning which wasn't a big production. My grains are growing fast and are healthy and its not much of a negative. I'm buying another for my mother who saw mine and wanted one.

Small for grains
Was excited to give as a gift, shipped in perfect condition. However, the cage was too small for our grains. We tried it anyway, but it used a lot of milk to cover the portions we had and still had to do keifer in 2 bottles. great idea and concept, but I need a cage double or triple that size so they sit down in the milk and all fit.

The best way to make milk kefir
I have recently started making milk kefir and was doing it with the traditional method of putting the kefir grains in a jar, adding milk, and then straining the grains out after 24 hours to start the process over again. While I love the kefir, I found the process a little tedious, especially after the grains get more active and the straining process takes more time. This product from Microbiota makes it so much easier to make milk kefir , it is a real game-changer!

Pretty good if your grains are established
Pros: Makes removing the finished Kefir pretty easy, just lift the cone out. Cons: Regular mouth jar - I much prefer the wide mouth jars as they are easier to clean. Sieve openings are too big for new starter grains.

Nice but small
it is nice, but very soon you will find out it is too small and you need a bigger jar.

Makes handling kefir grains easy
Really great product. You don't have to handle the grains at all. Just lift it out of the jar and start another batch
