FINALLY A SOLUTION FOR VITILIGO!! LITERALLY!!!
This magic bottle was literally a game changer for me. I am a brown eyed blond who always tans easily to a dark golden brown. We spend months in Key West and I'm constantly in the sun. After undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer I have survived the disease but ended up with Vitaligo and large areas of white where the radiation burned out the cancer. It's been so embarrassing for me....I've tried everything there is to "cover" the white areas. Make-up, self tanners others dyes....nothing really worked. Everything washed off in the pool or didn't cover the white spots. Now I've finally found the solution. This is so easy to use...dries immediately....works gradually over 12 hours or so and matches my tanned skin so well I can now where anything and feel like a million bucks. The embarrassment is hard to describe if you have never experienced vitiligo. The spots were so bright white and they continue to pop up. Dermal Dye is a life saver. Definitely worth trying. I have no personal interest in the product. I just have suffered for so long with vitiligo.

I would not recommend this product
First of all this product is not a "DYE". Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is classified as Stainer. This product it nothing else but sunless solution tanning salons are using in their spray booths. After applying thin layer on an affected area my hands became orange. It took few hours to get all the results ( thats normal for DHA). I would not recommend this product. It's hard to apply since solution is clear and results are horrible. This is going back after one day. What is DHA? DHA acts on the dead skin cells on the surface of our skin. The amino acids in this dead layer of skin can react with DHA in order to produce chemicals called melanoidins. The reaction can be classified as a Maillard reaction โ precisely the type of reaction thatโs responsible for browning in foods such as meat when theyโre cooked.

Confusing Product to use
This product is not a dye, per se. It causes a temporary darkening of the skin, in the applied area. Application amount and application area is very difficult to work with since the solution is alcohol based and clear. I have not found a way to get this to blend with my skin color. It is much more on the orange side of brown than tan side of brown. The only good news is that it is temporary. It will fade in three to four days. If someone has a better way to apply this stuff, I would like to know.

It works
Dermal dye is a clear, watery liquid. Its applied about every other day as needed. The dying effect takes some time, a few hours to develop. It takes a little practice to get the optimal shade. It is not make-up nor does it provide 100% cover-up or a perfect matching color. However it does cover up the unpigmented areas so they aren't as noticeable. Vita-dye was used in the past and that worked better. However that's no longer available. Dermal dye is a good alternative.

Camouflage, until a cure is found
Dermal Dye is a must-have product for persons affected by skin tone irregularities caused by such conditions as Vitiligo. What makes this product particularly effective is that the formula permits color customization, by allowing the user to match skin tones through the addition of simple food coloring. The product comes in a clear formula, and I just add the necessary combination of colors to achieve the desired hue. Additionally, one of the active ingredients is thought to actually promote re-pigmentation during the coverup process. A tip for mixing the product with food coloring is to mix in small quantities, say not more than one ounce of Dermal Dye at a time. I use a second small container, and then add the colors as necessary. I have found that I can use a one-ounce mix on both hands for about 4-5 weeks. In a later post, I will provide before and after photos to give a visual of the results I have been able to achieve.

Not for light skin
This product works well for myself since I am medium to dark skin color. When using this product you have to be very careful when applying to areas such as the hands. It tints very dark and its hard to get off. Also the product is clear and you can't tell how much is too much after a few hours go by. Overall, I like it since it does make my vitiligo less noticeable.
