Missing Part
I just received my spindle assembly and was very impressed with it. In fact I agree with most of the other reviews. It seems to be well made and has a good feel to it.However, when I unpacked it, I looked for the missing table insert. After research, I discovered it is optional.While I admit the table insert is optional for larger pieces, most of us are safety conscience and wouldn't consider working with something that put our hands in danger. It is my opinion that the table insert is worth the ten bucks. I recommend you order one as well. (Jet 709539)

Good addition -->Watch out - no face plate included
Same quality as the other spindles. Note that this doesn't come with the face plate. Do not understand why the face plate isn't included with the 3" spindle option.Bought through Amazon at Acme Tool. They were really knowledgeable to know that you had to get the face place as a replacement part and was able to order the "replacement part" through them. The face plate only has a round hole option, no slotted option part for angled sanding. The Jet part number is 709539 (for the round plate). You can find the part number on the back page of the owner's manual.

Nice addition to the spindle sander
This is a pricy addition to the Jet spindle sander. If you don't have a stationery belt sander, this has a large enough diameter to sand straight edges. Its unfortunate Jet does not include the table insert with this item.

I wish it came with the throat plate and was a bit taller. You have to order the throat plate from JET directly. I am looking forward to using this.

A handy size to have
I wish the jet sander had come with this to begin with. It is a good size for larger inside curves. It works well with the table top sander.
