D A Carson is an amazing theologian

I have come to love reading D.A. Carson. His exegesis is thorough and his harmony of the gospels, defending God's Word from liberal textual critics is superb. His style of writing is scholarly yet readable. The format of the EBC leaves much of the sources in the comments, and apts for limited notes at the end of each section rather then footnotes, which hinders the fluidity of each comment. D.A. is in the process of updating this commentary, but if you're not willing to wait, buy it used for a reasonable price.

What I expected: A modern Matthew Henry.What I recieved: A complete commentary on every verse in the first three books of the Gospel.This is amazing. A complete reference for Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Whether you are looking to do a word study or just looking to deeply understand what is meant in the original text this is the only book you need.I will be purchasing the rest of the series.

I bought this book after reading some commentary reviews. This is excellent and I highly recommend it if you are wanting to get in and study the Word much more in-depth. It's easy to understand and very insightful.
