These scissors worked great for kevlar thresd.
Scissors for cutting Kevlar thread. This pair of scissors worked great on Kevlar thread. I have some high end scissors that would not touch Kevlar. This product worked perfectly. They are well constructed high quality and at a reasonable price. I would recommend this product 100%. You will not be disappointed if you’re looking for scissors that will cut Kevlar like butter.

Wow. Super impressed with these scissors
Without exception, these are the best scissors I’ve ever owned. I have some really nice scissors that are hundreds of dollars and this pair of scissors for the size and the mission of cutting through hard cut items is way better. They’re easy to hold, ergonomic. They look substantial and absolutely get the job done. I used them to trim some Kevlar fabric, and it went right through it without issue and without dulling the blade. Wow a little bit more expensive, I’m really glad I bought these.

Great Shears
I keep these with me at my workbench. They cut great, nice size just as described. I recommend them.

Great for synthetic marine line
Excellent for cutting marine lines. I use it for splicing. I think maybe they work so well because one of the blades has tiny serrations, gripping the line a little, and the other does not. Whatever, far better for this than any other scissors I have

Precise, tough, nimble, and convenient
Where have these shears been all my life? I’ve gotten by (barely) with regular paper-type Fiskars scissors, wire-cutter-style dykes, tin snips, many other types of scissors, and X-Acto knives. But I recently had a super-tough job facing me: Precisely trimming to the edge, some 40-mil-thick (1 mm) discolored and hardened rear-window vinyl on my convertible (a Miata) after having glued on a piggy backed replacement sheet of clear PVC. Nothing was working and I was depressed. After careful research here on Amazon, I ordered these 5½-inch carbon steel shears from Ascend Tools. Everyone should own a pair of these; you don’t know what you’re missing. They handily fill the gap between regular scissors and tin snips, and they do a wonderful job. In the photo, note the curved cut line denoted by the arrow; that’s where I cut away the old, orange-translucent, UV-hardened original rear window near-flush to the OEM heat-welded join border. It was easy. I precisely advanced every 2 to 3 millimeters and didn’t have to use the “lateral squeeze English” on the handles like we all unconsciously do with regular scissors when cutting extra-thin or extra-tough materials. See the video. I can’t say enough good things about these shears. They are exceedingly well made, commercial-grade instruments and are well-worth the money. There are a multitude of ways to make things cheaper but doing so necessarily sacrifices in quality; this is a temptation that Ascend clearly didn’t want to make. I should have owned these decades ago. Darn. They would have saved me a lot of time and would also have improved the quality of many of my projects. I just stowed them in a privileged spot on my peg board after having wiped them down with a few drops of 3-In-1 oil (treatment reserved for “special” tools).

Nothing Special.
The shears cut well and are durable. They are not great for cutting gel impregnated carbon fiber. They cut both thin metal and woven cloth fiber with ease but are not exceptional.

Does a terrific job
I use light weight fiber glass cloth on my RC planes. Cutting the fiber glass in a straight line is a real problem with most scissors. This Ascend tool does an amazing job. It cuts easily, cleanly, and makes exactly the cut that I want. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny for the job it does.

I've had these scissors for a couple years. They are as sharp today as the day I got them. So worth the price if you do any rope work!
