From the manufacturer About Us Zebra Pen Corporation was founded in New York in August 1982 as an independent corporation wholly owned by Zebra, of Tokyo, Japan. The Zebra was adopted in 1914. Legend has it that Mr. Ishikawa, founder of Zebra, wanted a company name that would be memorable and also appropriate for their export business to other countries. He took an English/Japanese dictionary and, opening it Japanese style from the back, started with the “Z” words. He stopped at “Zebra”. Upon further research, Mr. Ishikawa found that zebras are gentle animals with a strong family herding instinct. This was an important attribute, since he wanted to build a business in which employees and customers were all part of a family-like culture. The fact that the zebra looks like it is decorated with large calligraphic pen strokes may have also appealed to the visual image he was seeking. Review: Great pens, majority of the colours are gorgeous. - I'm loving these pens so far and can't wait to use them in my journal. Most of these colours are gorgeous, but a couple I feel are poor additions - one each of the yellows, oranges and pinks are more like traditional neon highlighters and I don't really feel I'll use them or that they fit with the pack. The yellow, in particular, is very neon and yet somehow still fairly hard to see on white paper, so not all that useful. Those colours aside, I LOVE the rest and the brush tip is really nice to use.

**Q: Has anyone tied these on Bible pages?  Do they bleed through?**
A: I bought a 5 pack of pastels tried it on 4 regular bibles and they did not bleed through. The blue and lavender shadowed but did not bleed through. I think the darker colors will bleed through regular Bible pages.

**Q: Does anyone know which mildliners of all 25 colors are not included in this pack??**
A: The Mildliner Assorted 15 Pack Zebra item # 78115 does not contain the 10 colors in the Refresh (Brights) and Friendly Packs:   Cyan, Lemon Yellow, Coral Pink, Apricot, Dark Gray, Lavender, Fuchsia, Marigold, Summer Green, and Citrus Green.

**Q: Do these smear on textbook pages?**
A: They smear in glossy pages if they aren't dry, yes
 It takes afew sections to dry, but they're so nice to use.

**Q: Will these be good for annotating a book? Or will the color bleed?**
A: No I use these to mark scriptures which are very thin pages and nothing bleeds through. However I needed a new set so I bought a new one and it looks like their stock is old. Several of the pens didn't work and I had to send them back. I went and bought them from a local art store and they work great about the same price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Some colours are highlighter (not mild!) and the marker ends bleed

These are great markers, as I understand it (translated the Japanese in the pics) they are pigmented colours and are thus waterproof after drying and of archival quality which is perfect for what I need. As others have shown, the orange, yellow and pink colours are basically highlighters rather than muted coloured mildliners like the rest, so they don't really match the collection! The brushes vary in stiffness so you've got to be good at varying your pressure from pen to pen when brush lettering, though over time perhaps they'll give a bit more flex with use and even out across the set. The marker-tip ends are a little more inky and so are more prone to bleeding even with minimal pressure. Overall a good purchase if you're prepared for the above!
