They pack away easily and plug into any device with a suitable jack. Since I dislike the term 'noise-cancelling,' as that's not entirely possible, I would say the ears are noise-muting; you can still hear outside noise when listening with the headphones, but it is no longer distracting enough to be a problem. Unfortunately, the plastic connecting the two ears of the headband is slightly flimsy. It snaps relatively easily with enough pressure, as I discovered when I accidentally bent the left foldable hinge the wrong way. The sound still works, but the band is no longer wearable because the wire is loose and won't stay on my ear.
