GE LED+ Dusk to Dawn Daylight A19 (1-Pack)

I bought this as the entrance light for my condo. I always hear about the lifespan of these types of bulbs, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised that this particular bulb. It has been in place for four years. It is always on and truly lights up at dusk and auto turns off at dawn. It is under a plastic dome, so it does get protected from the elements and it’s auto-on/auto-off works perfectly. It provides enough brightness enough to safely light the entryway. Superb quality, and a great value for not only the purchase price, but the savings on my electric bills. I have also purchased this for a friend, and she is also very pleased for the same reasons.

Works as described.

No worries about "did I leave the porch lights on?" Just leave your outdoor light switch in the 'on' position, and these lights will come on by themselves, dusk to dawn. If you travel, you don't have to worry about crooks seeing your outdoor lights on during the day while you're away, which makes it great for added security and peace of mind. And since they come on by themselves at night, it looks likes someone's home. Of course, we just leave the switch on all the time, even when we're home. Pretty handy to have the lights on when you come home. The brightness on the package seems accurate; some I've tried are too dim, but these are nice and bright to protect my car and property. I can definitely recommend these, and if they ever burn out, I'll buy them again!

I understand the confusion some other reviewers may have regarding these bulbs and I can only speak from my experience. In short, the two I bought are working as advertised -- on at dawn, off at dusk. However, they take some time to operate as advertised when first plugged in. I plugged them in last night and they stayed on, as they should because it was night time. When I shined a flashlight for about 30 seconds directly at the light sensors on the side of the bulbs, they both stayed on, which made me think they were defective. However, in the morning they shut off, again as they should. One other bit of info: we just had a daytime power outage for about 10 minutes. When power was restored the bulbs turned on for about 2 or 3 minutes but then went off. There's another dawn-to dusk bulb made by Sunbeam that I picked up at Walmart, of all places, and it operates the way one might expect. It goes on when dusk approaches but if you shine a flashlight on it (or turn on the overhead lights in the room) it goes out immediately. If you turn the overhead lights off it goes on immediately. Admittedly this is the way one would expect such bulbs to operate -- responding immediately to ambient light or dark. Apparently that is not the way these GE bulbs operate but they still seem to be doing the job. Here's hoping these comments are helpful.

I should have bought this sooner! This has been great as far as improving my energy efficiency, and overall safety. Just set it and forget it and you don't have to worry about the exterior lights being off when you come back from a night out.

Bought this recently and seems to work. If it continues to do so, I'd say it's pretty good.

We have a front porch entrance way with an opaque lamp fixture. I was concerned that this light bulb may not be able to detect when it was dark enough to turn on and when it was light enough to turn off. But I figured I would give it a go. So, I took off my lamp globe; took out the old bulb and installed this new bulb and reinstalled my opaque globe. I turned on the switch and left it on all the time as instructed. The bulb turned on and again, as mentioned in the instructions, after a few minutes the bulb turned off. I then waited for dusk to see if indeed the bulb would turn on. And guess what, IT DID. That morning, when I got up, the bulb was already off. The sunlight sensor performed flawlessly. I have had it for weeks now and still going strong. I wish that I had gotten this years ago. Now when we come home at night, there is the welcoming light already on. Much safer to walk up our few steps and access our locked door as well. We are very pleased with this purchase.

Bought this over a year ago it’s on from dusk till Dawn still going strong
