A: The width of the top shield is around 5inches...height is around a foot not including the stake that goes in the ground. These are just estimated measurements

A: Yes

A: two 1.5 volt batteries wired in series.

**Q: Is it recommended to bring these lights in during winter?  If so, how best to store them?**
A: I have always left them out during the winter and they still work great.   The kids actually love seeing the snow lit up by the lights.
