Beautiful AND Functional - I purchased one for myself and one for my airbnb - I'm sure I'll be back for more for 'last minute gifts'. Great price point, elegant packaging - and the inlay options make it seem much more expensive! I'm in love with the rosewood inlay - Most importantly the product is well made, ( yes I've been putting it to the test) Easy operation for me - and I have two bionic wrists! Highly recommend for your own kitchen essentials and yes - thoughtful gift for any wine lover! Only concern is that they are so beautiful and classy the TSA personel might well 'liberate' them from your checked luggage! Remember this is not an item you can take on an aircraft, and who would want to loose such a well crafted and elegant corkscrew!

I bought this after reading the reviews of many corkscrews and it is worth every penny.Pros:Seems unbreakable - My wife and I have managed to break every corkscrew we've ever owned within a few uses. This thing is at 9 months and still going strong.Easy to use - It's more intuitive to use than a corkscrew with the two handles. You just have to unlearn the process of using the standard type of household corkscrew.Nice conversation piece - Every time this comes out of the drawer our guests comment on it. How often can you say that about something you only paid a little over $10 for?Cons:A slight learning curve if you are used to another style of corkscrew, but once you get used to it you will wonder why you've ever used anything else.

Used rabbit style opener for years that finally broke. Wanted something smaller to put in the under bar drawer so gave the HiCoup a try. Works very well, no broken corks on first 5 bottles I opened. I did work the swing hinge a bit first to help free it up. The foil cutter did fine on foil and hard plastic, not so well on the thinner plastic wrapper like material.I did however receive the wrong handle color so that is why I knocked a star off. Ordered Stainless with Rosewood and received Tiger's Eye resin as the box was mis-marked. The seller immediately offered to exchange but for $12.00 item it really wasn't worth my effort, I'll just keep it. I do plan to buy at least one more, maybe a few as gifts.Edit 2020.07.22Ordered another HiCoup and it arrived in correct colors. Will put the first one in our RV and use the newer one at the house. Taught my wife and sons how to use it, super simple. Probably pickup a couple more as holiday gifts for a few friends as what in todays world for under $15 can you give as a gift that is actually useful.

Our old, cheap corkscrew went MIA, I wanted something a bit more upmarket. I looked briefly at the Laguiole brand, but cannot justify $179 for such a simple tool. I also refuse to buy the $39 dollar knock-offs that are abundant here on Amazon. This one was Promoted, but looked good enough to give it a try. It is absolutely fantastic and a terrific value for money as well. The worm is of the "split" type, for silent entry into any type of cork. The stepped shoulder allows one to engage the rim of the bottle with the worm well-into the cork; no more pulled half-corks on those old, brittle corks. Excellent ergonomics, the foil cutter is substantial and serrated, easy to deploy and put away. Fit and finish of the wood to metal is perfect. You will not find a better corkscrew at any price point. This would make an excellent gift for any oenophile friends you might have.

This wine key is solid, good looking and feels like it will stand up to the task of opening a lot of wine bottles over time. (I have been using it very often over the past couple of months since I received it; I like it more with each pulled cork!)In the past, I have always used the Pulltap wine opener in my job and with friends. It is a very good opener and gets the job done. But this HiCoup opener, in my opinion, is a big step above and is much easier to use when pulling the cork. I got the one with the two exposed and polished rivets, which cost slightly more but, I think, adds to the great look of the rosewood handle.In addition, I think this opener would make a special gift for someone who enjoys the pleasure of sipping a good wine.

Even though the opener works very well and this is my second one - someone messed up. I ordered a Rosemary wood opener like I did last time, but this one came with blonde/very light wood. That is NOT what I wanted so somewhere in the process things got mixed up. Not happy about it and it is not worth me returning it. I almost rated it poorly under giftable because the wrong one was sent, but I let it go.

I rarely leave Amazon reviews. I don't like leaving bad reviews (unless I really wasted money) and most things have something wrong with them, so it's not worth my time to give it a default 4-star or so.This is an extremely solid corkscrew. Exceptionally sturdy and like most knuckle-type corkscrews this is quite robust. Just make sure there is a good grip of the bottle top, or you'll easily chip off the glass -- this is made of (strong) 420 stainless steel. The only (potential) negative is that it can be rough on the cork, but this is really only a negative for those who are very particular in saving corks. It doesn't crumble the cork in the way that many corkscrews with subpar worms can, but because of how thick the knuckle part is, it can rather can easily slice through the top of the cork, especially if the bottle has been chilled. That's not enough of a complaint for me to deduct any stars, though.This is an awesome product. I am ordering more.

A sturdy built coupled with simple but effective design. This corkscrew has a sharp foil cutter that has remained so after more than 6 months' use. The double hinge is a useful feature that allows easy cork pulling. I opted for the rosewood inlay, which looks great. The handle has an appealing feel and is ergonomic. At its current price, this is a great piece of luxury tool priced very reasonably.

I love drinking wines, love its tools as well.

Top quality little tool. Opens the bottles a treat. My daughter uses it at work waitressing and says its brilliant. Finds the penknife works really well on the foil as well.
