I use it to round-off 10mil laminated items, and it has performed perfectly. **Q: does it cut leather very well?** A: I have not tried it on leather. When asked to rate this item I do not think that I rated it very high, however I found that I was not using it the correct way and now that I have fixed that I am very satisfied with the job it does for cutting my corners. I almost always use card stock when using this item. **Q: Will this cut 4-ply matboard?** A: I cut regular card stock that is 110# for card making. I went down in my craft room and tried cutting regular matboard with it. I don't don't if 4-ply is different than the matboard that they use to mat pictures professionally, which is the kind I have. It would be pushing it to say it will cut that thickness on a regular basis. I got it to cut once or twice, but it did not give a truly clean cut. I don't know if it would hold up to that kind of wear and tear. Hope that helps answer your question. **Q: How many layers of paper will it cut through? Will I be able to cut an entire notebook (about 20 pages) in one punch?** A: It will cut 2 or 3 layers of chipboard or 6-8 sheets of paper at once. I only cut 3 or 4 sheets of cardstock at a time, as there is not a clamp to hold the paper as it is cutting, and too many layers cut at once will shift.
