Mother of Peace: A Memoir by Hak Ja Han Moon

I was so inspired reading this book. Mother Moon developed a strong faith in God as a young child--"God is my father"--and that closeness has guided her through a course of hills and valleys that continues to this day. The word "sacrifice" is mentioned throughout the book. I found that profound because faith by itself is belief within the mind, but sacrifice is putting that faith into practice daily by one's actions. Mother Moon has provided me a model for self-reflection of my own faith and sacrifice to do God's Will. Thank you for this heartfelt memoir and its timely lessons for me and others, especially at this turbulent time in human history.

Dr. Hak Jan Han Moon lays out a proven plan for peace that is not dependent on national, religious or political affiliation. Her path was a painful one, surviving as a child refuge in war ravaged Korea, enduring the loss of 4 children and experiencing racism, criticism and religious persecution. Yet her center is always the Heavenly Parents and the experience of God's love for all people.

The Mother of Peace is a powerful story of overcoming obstacles, with faith and determination. While so many in the world choose to be victims and blame others for their circumstances, Hak Ja Han shows how to take responsibility and be victorious. I distantly knew about Mrs. Hak Ja Han, her husband, and their impressive endeavors beneficially impacting so many people and nations. I'm only several chapters into this memoir, and it has already opened so much insight into her sincere absolute resolve to offer her life to God, even from such a young child. It also helped me gain perspective of the serious challenges she faced while growing up in a war torn Korea. I can't deny that my respect for her and her continual sacrificial efforts even at such an advanced age has deepened.

Such a fascinating look into the life of a woman at the center of a new religion who is totally committed to her purpose of comforting the heart of God. Mother Moon's unwavering faith and relationship with God has taken her from a small village in war-torn North Korea, into a marriage with a man just as single-mindedly dedicated to God as she is. This book gives us a view into their wedding, their marriage, their relationship, and their life, as Mother Moon gave birth to 14 children, and the two of them traveled around the world on this mission, and amassed a worldwide followership/movement.When I pick it up, the time disappears. There is no one who can tell the story of the Unification Church and Father Moon's mission from the kind of perspective that she has, and it feels surreal to be experiencing her life through this book. Highly recommend it!

Great book. Very well-written. Would recommend. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon is phenomenal at letting the reader into her perspective and life. She makes bold statements, I appreciate that; the world needs more people confident in who they are that can back it up with their experience and impact. This one will really get you thinking and reflecting deeply about your own life.

Mother and Father Moon, working behind the scenes, in so many ways have had an impact on our times. Whether it was meeting with Mikhail Gorbechev to usher in the transition from the Soviet Union to the modern Russia, or educating American youth about the importance of family and morality, or proposing the Korean DMZ be turned into a UN Peace Park, or saving the tuna industry, the stories and insights are inspiring and significant. There is so much we didn't know, and this book let's us in on it!

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon has given humankind a wonderful gift with her memoir, Mother of Peace. She shares with us her lifelong dream of ending human suffering and bringing about a world of peace. Her story of unwavering faith and love in God moved me to tears as she and her late husband endured persecution and suffering beyond what most could understand. As I read her book, I found a renewed hope in me that a peaceful world full of love, compassion and harmony is absolutely possible.

Mother Moon as she is affectionately known leads us gently into an understanding of her life and mission. I see so many similarities with the life of Rev Sun Myung Moon her husband as well, her deep love of nature, her intense spiritual training, her gradual awakening to her true value in her relationship with her Heavenly Father. Her vibrant and deep relationship with God is surely the source of her spiritual courage and true love. In more recent years she expressed that she was God's only begotten daughter as her relationship and communication with her parent God is so deep and natural. She draws us all into this realization that we all have this potential to be filled with God's spirit and essence as well. All human beings can have this profound understanding of their value as God's children and that we can have a beautiful relationship with our God who is our Parent. God does not need to be distant and all mighty but is as close to us as our husband or wife, our parents and our children. This is my initial review and commentary having only read the early chapters of this memoir. I am sure that i will find further insights and realizations as i delve deeper into this memoir 'the mother of peace'. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to others.

Great book this! It's unusually well-written and accessible for this type of literature. Very thoughtful about how to promote change towards a more positive world where I'd like to be living, and which I can also contribute to. People are asking me for it in other countries where amazon doesn't reach. I am re-ordering, another 10.

Not finished this book yet but It has me riveted. very poetically written. Revelling a very special heart toward God and the world.

If you are capable of seeing goodness in other people you will have struck gold here. A remarkable woman so untainted by the world.
