CORE Pate Adult Canned Wet Dog Food, Grain Free, Natural, Turkey and Chicken Recipe, 12.5 oz, Pack of 12 Cans

I've tried many different dry foods with my chihuahua mix. She does okay with them for a little while, but then won't touch them. Even when she'll eat them, she takes her time and is not enthused at all. I decided to try a canned food to see if it might be more appealing to her, and since I like Wellness I tried this first. I started by mixing it with her dry food, but she went straight for the wet food, picking around the dry. She would eat some of the dry food at the end if I stood there and watched her. I kept this up for a couple weeks, then switched her over completely to the canned food, since my cat was eating her dry leftovers. She still gobbles it down after about a month, and still licks the bowl clean every night. I was concerned about switching her over to a completely canned diet, as I've heard not feeding dry food can cause problems with the teeth and gums, but I think brushing her teeth and giving her dental treats will be sufficient. It's nice that now she eats her whole meal within a couple of minutes, so I don't have to watch the bowl and make sure the cat doesn't eat it for her. I'm sticking with the turkey recipe for now, but if she starts getting picky again, I'll try the fish recipe.

My pup loves it over her dry food

I bought the first back of the turkey, chicken and liver flavor locally to try it out. after transitioning her to it we noticed how much more regular she was and her "after meal business" was easier to pick up. she used to get diarrhea from so many other brands we tried. and while I have to say she loves the junky brands of dog food out there (the ones that are all by products and garbage you should not feed your dog) they were not agreeing with her system. finding a balance of quality food she will eat was not easy. she is a Crested, if you have one, you know they are picky. I got the dog as a rescue and had to have several bad teeth removed, so she needs a softer food to eat easily, this really fits the bill. the canned food is like a pâté. I give her 1/4 can twice a day with ground up with wellness core air dried kibble. I mixed them together so she gets a bit of something to chew with her last back teeth. her skin is looking great, and she put on a pound. is 8 pounds now. she licks her bowl clean. what I love most is what it does inside her- no more gassy dog on the sofa next to me, no more beef breath, no more wet runny mess in the grass to scrape up, no more dog straining for way too long to "go". if you have a picky eater, give it a try, it may be perfect for you. its much easier than cooking for your pup. I did get one can with a dent when I ordered it here, and I see many reviews about the dents but it did not effect the contents, it was not broken open in any way. the case comes in a box, it has those bubble pillows around it, but its heavy so I think dents will be part of the process, but its so much cheaper here on Amazon even if I had a few I cant use I am ahead. see my photos of the product out of the can if you want to know what it looks like, its a ground smooth food. the higher protein count in this food VS the last lower price stuff means I had to cut back on the feeding portions (or cut out her treats or have a chubby pup) I just cut back her portions and she did gain weight which she needed. she is now at a healthy good weight and is happy.

I didn't taste it, but the dog did, and she LOVED the taste... she was a rescue that came to us with skin sucked in between her boney ribs... very carefully, we weaned her off the feed from the shelter and rescue onto Wellness Core Heart Cuts and Wellness Core dry dog feed. She quickly gained a shiny smooth coat and gained weight, and became a much more relaxed feeder. In September, when animal control finally caught her after living on the streets for nearly a year, she weighed 43 pounds. We have been vetting her regularly and feeding the Vet's suggested diet and amounts, and this week she is 65 pounds and very healthy. We have backed off the feed quantity, as 65 pounds is the Vet recommended weight, and we will adjust for activity level as we go forward.

The product is excellent. The cans, however, are dented beyond acceptable standards. :(

My dogs love this wet food! Definitely on the pricer side, but well worth it for the ingredients. We also don't use all at once, 1 can lasts about 3 days -- just make sure to cover and place in fridge. We also mix it with our dog's dry food to add more moisture.

I’m thanks to Amazon I know that I have officially ordered it 32 times! So obviously I love it and get it delivered once per month. Everything was fine until the last batch when all the cans in my shipment were liquified. Normally the food is a solid. It’s like someone opened the cans, took out some food and poured water in. Needless to say I was suspicious but fed it anyway and my dogs got horrible diarrhea. I called amazon and they replaced it right away. Thank goodness. Just like anything, be aware of what you buy. This is the only thing I feed my dogs.

Dogs love it. Added to regular kibble as a flavor enhancer for older dogs. Works and keeps my old girl eating happily.

Arrives super fast! 2 days. My dog loves this food.
